Those of us who realized that true 3D gaming is within our grasps and price range are using either ATI HD3D or 3D Vision to play almost all of our games on. With my setup, if you've already got an nvidia card, another $300 - $450 will net you a 3D monitor or projector and a set of shutter glasses that completely immerse you in the world. You're already on the right track because cryengine 3 works very well with these technologies right out of the box.

Please work with Nvidia on this and Mechwarrior may become another driving force behind true 3D gaming for others. On my 78" screen in true 3D, I may just come live in the inner sphere.

Can there be a poll option for "I just don't care about 3d"?

I would rather they didn't spend time making the game 3d when they could make it more awesome in the 2 basic Ds.

None of the poll options apply to me. I have Nvidia 3D vision, but I don't necessarily "love it". Three things are currently causing me not to use it: The general lack of true support for it on most games (this game probably won't have that problem though), the lighting which causes dual image ghosting is pretty bad, and the fact that although my graphics card can handle it, it's not beefy enough to handle it at decent frame rates. Otherwise I'd use it all the time.

No. 3d hurts my head. As in, I'm epileptic and it could cause a siezure. I've heard lots of people get quezzy from it as well. It's not really catching on that well commercially from what I see. There was a big rush towards it after Avatar made 3d movies popular for a bit, but it's sort of less appealing to many people now I think. I think it would be a sidetrack for them to develop for 3d, and as the game will be a Minimal Viable Product when released first, I think the liklihood of this is somewhere between 0% and 0.0001%

Only time 3D hurted me was when I tried one of the ways to do it without glasses ( I have 4 of those) by crossing eyes. It worked, but my eyes hurted for like 2 days. :P

I actually laughed out loud.

I had a Dolphin magic eye picture when I was a child.

And I never saw it. I could NEVER see those things.

No vote, I have the nVidia 3D stuff, and a monitor that supports it at 60mhz in 3D, 120mhz without 3D. Sadly, there's like..0 games that really work well with 3D right now, despite nVidia saying a few of my games run great in 3D..obviously my defination of great and their's are widely divergent :P

It looks great, the stuff that's IN 3D, it really does add a lot to the immersion factor, but the non-3D stuff kills it, and that's usually the little things..the HUD, the menus, etc. I don't get any headaches from it, and the glasses fit over my own glasses just fine, comfortable to wear.

To put it in perspective..I got the 3D setup because it came free with my monitor, not because I wanted to buy it ;)

Aye, same here as well. I've never been able to really appreciate 3-D, and I feel that it only belongs in gimmicky theme park shows.

Crysis 2 apparently pulled 3D off extremely well, haven not tried it myself yet, and since Crysis 2 used CryEngine 3 it would not be too hard to have 3D in MechWarrior: Online although I think that it would possibly lower the quality if they spent too much time on the 3D aspect.

This.
I also find it to just be a distraction. The last few years 3D has been overexposed imo. Hell, most of the 3D movies that comes out look terrible and its hard to see whats going on. The obvious exception to this was Avatar. So no to 3D gaming thanks.

I'm not interested in 3d as it is presented now.

It costs a lot, hurts after a time, and the effect isn't to large.

Well, it does not hurt in the movies. But, yeah. The more it hurts, the better result you get. :P
