Frankly I think this is a case of "It's not a bug, it's a feature". The fact you can still damage parts of a mech that hasn't been destroyed even after that mech has been killed and isn't possible to target anymore, tells me something isn't right.

I have no idea why people are complaining about this just pay more attention to the target and not spamming till the redbox disappears.....ohh and u have always been able to destroy parts of a dead mech since closed beta^^

I have no idea why you would defend this. There is no upside. None.
No warrior, during battle should be standing around looking for which cool why I killed this enemy.
There is a downside. There is zero upside.
If they want to give us more info I am all for it. Give it to me post game and outside of game.

I used NARC today, and I’ve noticed that if a mech dies with NARC still active on it, it will remain as a valid target for the rest of the match. Don’t know if it’s a widespread bug.

While the idea is cute and it's working as intended, it's not working as expected.
Seeing were we hit to get the kill is sweet... I mean, when you're not in a battle or not staring at the (now dead but does not look like dead) mech! For example, I am yet to notice where I hit because, you see, I was too busy killing/being killed or shooting at the target just to make sure it's dead and not overheated. That, allied with the occasional bug where a deader-than-dead mech would still have a red triangle on its head and show up at the mini-map, make things too ambiguous. I applaud you wanting to give us some cute information to boost the ego (hey a headshot!) but as it is now it's just hindering a match.
By the way, why can I still shoot streaks/LRM at a dead mech (= still have lock)? Don't waste my ammo/time/heat/life please.
A quick "fix" would be removing it altogether or making the timer shorter.

Here's a new one that is tied to this. Shot "THROUGH" a dead mech's destroyed Center Torso and killed a teammate behind it. Arms/legs, side torsos intact.
its happened twice, sorry to those i TK'd and its happened to me, no hard feelings.
