I have been using the airstrike module for the past couple matches in hopes of seeing the new aerospace model, but so far it has not seemed to appear. I have tried using the module on the testing grounds also, and have gotten the same results.

Has anyone seen the new model? If not, then the new aerospace must have cloaking devices the new model might have accidentally been left out of the patch.

Found it! (more or less).

Arrow: Direction of flight.
Circle: Trace left by the Fighter.
Comment: Didn't really see it though - just noticed the moving trail. Probably smaller and faster then an AC2 bullet. The fins on THOSE are visible.

So the new "plane" model is a particle effect, it seems.

This was recorded in testing grounds, PERHAPS it is slightly different in the real matches...

The model is in the gamefiles, so... Are you sure that's simply not a part of the skybox?

For the people knowledgable/interested in BTech aerospace craft, it is this: http://www.sarna.net...ospace_Fighter)

Yes since it appeared exactly the moment the airstrike dropped (and not instantly but as if a plane was flying) and vanished afterwards. Tried it twice, appeared both times. (Different matches of cause)

Oh boy a new model! too bad nobody is going to use it or see it because the ability still blows.

Just a guess here, but I have a bad suspicion it is caused by render distance (like you get on lower Object detail settings, where you can't see enemy mechs in the distance despite clear LoS).

Probably better to report it as a bug if you have the highest Object Details (since if it doesn't appear to people with highest settings, something's really wrong) set.

Does this effect occur on airstrikes only? For artillery it would be cool to see flickers on the horizon from the artillery pieces right before the shells impact the ground. They could come from each team's side of the map to represent a sort of front line feel.

Nope, no sighting here either. Just one more invisible dog & pony show.

Q: Which developer adds and adds and adds more complexity to their broken code instead of fixing long-standing issues?

A: PGI, that's who.
