50 50, I like it... it would be a good bridge into a total warfare style framework.

OP's suggestion was basically realized in Community Warfare. Problem was they only released one type of asset (the Gauss cannon), which is the sign of a developer that's either extremely lazy or (more likely) severely undermanned. Which means expecting dozens of gamemodes or dramatic upheavals to the game's existing format (like a persistent battlefield with players rotating in and out) is pretty unlikely without a massive upscaling of the studio's size. There also very likely technical limitations to that kind of thing.
