Earl Stefan Shor of Trondheim has issued a "Planetary Red Alert" for the Trondheim System, following the unexpected appearance of Jumpships at the Nadir JumpPoint.

The report reads as follows:

On the eighth of May, year 3050, several Jumpships of unknown classification entered the Trondheim System at the Nadir JumpPoint at approximately 11:56:05, Eastern Continental Coast Time.

The Nadir Recharging Station first reported the Jumpships and was later confirmed by a planetary scan of the JumpPoint. After several transmissions were recorded from the station, transmissions ceased. No further transmissions have been received from the Recharging Station despite attempts to make contact.

Due to the nature of the appearance of the Jumpships and the lack of communication from both our station and the Jumpships themselves, the Earl of Trondheim has declared the situation a "Planetary Red Alert". Planetary Red Alert Level is only issued in the event of 'an apparent imminent attack or invasion by hostile forces'. The alert level gives certain emergency martial law powers to the Earl and allows the Planetary Militia and Mercenary forces to move freely in order to best defend the planet from assault.

---

Trondheim Live, Daily Report will continue to provide coverage on the incident as it is released to the public. At this time, the Jumpships' origin and affiliation are still unknown, and any attempts to make contact have been met with silence.

It was originally posted in MWO News as a bit of RP. It was moved here because it's RP and not news.

Which raises the question of why was it moved here instead of to the RP sections?

I spend more of my time in the off topic threads than general discussion anyway.
