As much as I love MechWarrior Online (it is my favorite game and franchise), until something is done about the new UI I won't be playing anymore. It is a massive step backwards in terms of functionality.. Do PGI not play this game themselves? Or do they not use the mechlab much? Shocking...

i really couldn't agree more. i love this game and am a hardcore fanboy. i have spent hundreds of dollars and introduced others who have done the same. At this point, I am having a hard time enjoying a double xp weekend. A doubleXp weekend! and I really have to force myself to log in because of this amazingly dissapointing cumbersome new UI. Did the devs quit working on this and just go play world of tanks? The last several downgrades seem to mirror the crap that is WOT. Forced 3pv until you go into settings and disable it..WTF? Please get back to work on this title. The franchise deserves better than the last few "updates" which are really downgrades.

It almost seems as if this were intentional, to prevent you from doing exactly that.

I don't have the same problem as you; I have 4 mechs, each of which has an XL engine and full upgrades. I like to play around with the loadouts, though; or rather, I used to.

I am finding myself playing a LOT less MWO. And I mean A LOT.
MWO has just became a lot less appealing and the only change I can think of is the new UI 2.0. I hate having to drudge through it to get to the "good" action.
Sounds like a fighter jet when I am in mechlab, Pulling parts and experimentation is an epic pain in the ass. I never experiment anymore with builds because it's just not worth it.
Worse is that it occupy's the entire screen when it's sitting idle. What I loved about UI 1.5 is it was a window that would be out of the way where I could do other things that needed doing and then click launch match and go back to doing those things, then it would go full screen when it found a match.
perfect, low GPU load.
The fact that it demands your full attention at full screen all of the time and sucks up processing power and high GPU loads isn't a plus in my book.
The reason I played MWO was equal parts configuring in mechlab and action.
Now it's just half the game it used to be and it's loosing it's appeal.

I like that very much, playing with camo isnt fun anymore, that goes for the whole mechlab also. I like most of every proposition made but i can't quote them all, if they look better and faster it's a no brainer.
Also, you fkn rich *******!! =)

This wasn't a problem before when the garage and lobby ran in a small window.

After about the tenth crash he gave up on it and so did I. I just never launched.
From miserable runs of stomp meta to having to fight the interface just to reload consumables I don't have the stomach for it.

a bit like:
f - e - e - l - s t - e - r - r - i - b - l - e...
I mean e.g. do I really have to confirm first that I want to train a skill, and immediately afterwards have to confirm that this skill was trained? Why make me click more often than necessary? - And I guess I can find lots of worse examples than the skill training one...
Well... and where ist the consumables hot-fix that was promised two weeks ago?... hmmm...

This is horribly annoying.
Sometimes the wait time for a match seems to drag on and on - with the previous UI it wasn't an issue because I could browse the forums while waiting, and it would just pop into full screen when the match began.
I really wish they sort this out soon.

I check its chassis in Mechlab. I see the loadout, except the engine.
Did i miss something?
It seems MWO doesn't give this info: which engine is in the mech you want to buy?
Ok, "check the wiki"...

Screw this stripmech-button, or ok, it's ok - IF u already know which mech has the effin module, BUT LOOKING for it is what is killing the feeling to play this. Still haven't found all of my modules cos my nerves burn before the clicking is done. I change mech loadouts a lot, so I hope accurate loadouts and detailed information - (engine, modules, slots, etc) are soon be available to pilots from the "mechselect screen", WITHOUT CLICKING to another screen!
Until then i play mainly other games, no mech tweaking killed this one.

Catch 22, PGI. I'm not going to even consider spending my existing MC(from the founder's, mind you) until I'm no longer bombarded by options to accidentally/retardedly spend said MC. Since these options are everywhere and it disgusts me, I'm also not adding to your extremely low player count.
Get back on track or get ******.
This is supposed to be a BattleTech game. A Mechwarrior game. Make the game first - FIRST! The money will flow then and you won't need this numpty tactic. Or you know, just keep up the stupid and see where that gets you, your licensed property, and your trust with the gaming industry.
I'd usually apologise for being so angry, but it's gone too far, too stupid.
