I told him that i would remember his name and i did.
Some days later we did drop against each other three times in a row. He always was loudmouthing when he did read my name, but refused to duel me. The first two matches i got killed by random enemys trying to engage him. But the third time i found him poptarting in his Cataphract some meters away from his allys. So i engaged him and finally killed him with my Trebuchet.
Best part was when he started whining afterwards about how cheesy my build was. ^^
Not the best match, not the best kill, but absolutely the most satisfying out of thousands.
Paton's use of tanks was cheese! He should have put in cavalry to make it more skilled!

I was playing an AS7-RS with LRMs, 2 Large Lasers and 2 Large Pulse lasers, i had no clue about what the remaining enemy mech was.
Teamchat was like "kill him, kill him, kill him noobs". I asked "where is he?" and got no answer. My teammates where in faster mechs than me and ran off. Shortly after that, they both dissapeared from my radar, so i knew the enemy was an ECM Mech. I walked into their general direction, when both died. They then were like "*****, y u no halp?" i was like "how 'bout you tell me where dafuq he is?" - again: no answer.
The enemy than happened to find me. My HUD went into jammed-by-ECM-mode and i knew he had to be close, arround the next hill he was staring at me: AS7-D-DC fully setup for a close up brawl with SRMs and AC20. We both were allready heavily damaged but didn't lose weapons yet, so we unleashed hell on each other and tried to dodge our opponents shots and tried to work with the terrain to stay allive. Fight went on for probably no more then 30 seconds (felt like 30 minutes to me) when i managed to take out his AC20. Soon after one of my arms got destroyed. I thought "damn, he still has 3 SRM Launchers vs my 2 lasers, i am not gonna make it", but somehow i managed to take out his shoulder with the launchers. It was hell of a great fight and i would have loved to let him live and go cap to safe him the death on his stats, but Alpine is huge and time was low, so i had to finish off his defenseless Atlas. It was a great fight, and i would love to call his name and tell him he is remembered as a brave mechwarrior...
...but i was to drunk to remember the name

Screw you, and your crutch broken Streaks and ECM.
(The BAP patch will only continue this circle jerk of bad weapon mechanic hard counters. Seriously PGI, fix your ****.)

I spent a little bit of time harrassing and finally capping, trying to draw off a few enemies because my team was getting pounded. Eventually, an Atlas of all things was heading for me, and when I did a quick look at the roster, it was down to 2 vs. 2. I didn't feel like tangling with that Atlas (looked pretty healthy still), and I could see my last remaining buddy a little ways off, so I circled right, passed through the crater in front of the enemy base, towards where my team mate was slugging it out with an enemy catapult. both were in the red in multiple places, and I ended up killing the Cat. After being thanked for my saviour kill, I let him know there was one last remaining Atlas near the enemy base, and ran off, typing "let's go!" - I didn't wait for him (rookie mistake, but there you have it), and found the Atlas sitting still on their base, so I started circle-dancing and firing streaks. Right when my heat alarm went off and I detached for a cool-down break, my team mate arrived and let loose with a volley of LRMs, so I, also, rejoined the battle.
We finished off the Atlas in fairly short order (since his CT was already weakened from our previous dancing), and we were both badly hurt by then...but through teamwork, we did take home the win.

When rolling with my stalker in tourmaline, a dragon on our team wandered off a little ways and got jumped by a pack of lights (jenner, spider, cicada). By the time I got to him he was about at 80%, had just overheated and was about to get a new *******. My first alpha takes out the jenner as he's circle strafing around the dragon, the second explodes the spider just as he was parking behind the dragon to unload and less then a second later the cicada crests a hill behind the dragon and I nail him with my last alpha right in the back as he was turning to hightail it out of there. So much win.

We dropped on Tourmaline with 4 medium mechs and decided its time to get this map brawler friendly so we set ourselves up with the following roles
Dragon (honorary medium mech): Bait
Hunchback 4P
Hunchback 4SP
Hunchback 4Sp
(Hunchies are all the trappers)
We run around the edge of the map to the enemy base and the Bait stands in the cap point behind the base drill (or whatever that thing is supposed to be) until the base is capped to 90%. After that the bait backs up a bit to still stand behind the cap point in clear view but still shielded from incomming fire.
In the mean time the trappers stand next to the wall between the 2 entrances to the base (where they can not be directly seen) and wait until the enemy has finished killing off the other 4 on our team (sorry guys for this, but were not going up against poptarts at long ranges with medimum ranged medimum mechs). By this time the 8 opponents are all paniking about loosing to a cap while they played so awsomely and managed to get a few kills, but it can only be one mech there capping as the meter is going down so slowly. The othehr 3 will be hunted down at a later point in the match... the important thing is to stop the cap now.
With poptarts you can be guaranteed, that they will come back to their own base as this is closer to their last fight than the enemy base.. so our final teammate dies an honorable death (We will bring cases of virtual Whiskey and virtually drink to you on your virtual funerals)...
and the first mech comes into view from our right with guns blazing ahooting at the cap point thing and dies a fast death to the trapper fire comming from behind him (Cap point down to 70% left by now).
1 Raven down 7 more mechs left
The first medimum apears from the left and falls to the same fate as his raven buddy
1 Raven, 1 Centurion down - 6 more mechs left
A slower Centurion apears from the left while PPC shots are hammering away at the base from the right. The Centurion goes down and a K2 slowly apears from the right and overheats right infront of the trappers. He manages to power up agian and makes a beeline to the cap point (80% capped by now) and the bait ignoring the 3 trappers who take him down in a few more shots
1 Raven, 2 Centurions and a K2 down - 4 mechs left
The first 2 Assults make their appearance from the Right side shooting PPCs towards the bait who has stepped out of the cap point in the mean time. The first one does the same maneuver as the K2 tried... beelining it to defend the base (which was not being capped any more anyways) while the second Highlander noticed us and started fighting us with only one Guass (The regular PPCs were useless at the range we were swarming him. He didnt last too long, after which we took care of the first Highlander (taking precautions not to step into the base again which is actually pretty dificult on a dogfight situation right next to the base)
1 Raven, 2 Centurions, a K2 and 2 Highlander down - 2 Mechs left
Low Signal... this late in to the engagement... Ill let you guess what mech this was... but it also made a bee line to the base.
1 Raven, 2 Centurions, a K2, 2 Highlander and a D-DC down - 1 Mech left
... and we waited and waited and waited... Just as we were about to go look for it we noticed a lot of PPC fire comming from the left side. Bait moves to one side a bit still staying outside of the cap and the Trappers go back to their position... and wait.
Quite a while later a Stalker apears in our view... with only one leg left. We decide to honor the brave "Long John Silver" Mech and alow him to reach the base before we start shooting.
1 Raven, 2 Centurions, a K2 , 2 Highlanders, an Atlas and a Stalker destroyed amounting to a total dropweight of 565 Tons... with just 210 Tons of battlemechs and a plan that worked.
Baiting a complete enemy team into paniking back to base on a big map which would force the Mechs to pull apart their complete formation due to the varying speeds they can run at... is really satisfying if your whole lance has an effective weapons range of a little less than 300 Meters (optimal range for Medium lasers and SRMs).

A more recent one was great just because of the precision shooting I used to take him down. It was a very clean, by the books kind of kill. It was on Alpine and I was in my dual ER PPC 5J. We came from the lower base, and thank goodness they hesitated and didn't get position on the peaks in time. We marched along the north side of the peaks, when I rounded a ridge and came face to face with a Jager sporting dual LBX and lasers. I kept the engagement at about 200m and was able to spread the damage all over my mech, while I landed nearly every PPC shot on his right shoulder. I had it to red armor and was gaining the upper hand, when in the distance, at no more than 500m, I saw twin Atlai coming at me. So, I spun around and darted back behind the nearest ridge. The Jager followed, but little did he know, there was a friendly CTF there to back me up. The Jager shifted focus, and they began to trade shots. I turned around and began to head left, with the CTF heading to my right, on course to pass between the Jager and I. I lined up my reticle and pulled the trigger on my right arm PPC. Success! The shot flew right past the CTF and slammed into the Jager's now armorless RT. It destroyed, and furthermore, he had an XL, so he crumpled. Afterwards, the pilot even said "Nice shooting."

Unluckily we had a disconnect on our team and an AFK who stayed at base the whole match. It surely seemed like our fate has already been decided. So I teamed up with a friendly Hunchback and a Yen Lo and who decided to grab kappa before heading into the brawl. As usual the main fight was close to the theta. After taking potshots at a Flame who had tried to take kappa and had changed his mind at the sight of the three of us we fell upon a lone Cataphract. Easy work considering we were all packing AC20s.
But when we got to the fight we started getting circled by a stalker and a Raven. The stalker immediately took out my right arm so my autocannon was still available. A few shots to weaken him and my fellow hunchback got the killshot. Now the ravens been taking some laser damage but he's weaving in and out so as he swings around some cover I release a shell and it find home. He drops dead. I'm pretty beat up at this point and the armor on my hunch is completely gone but I've got some time to breathe.
At that very moment I see a K2 crest part of the terrain and he's coming right at me. First AC shot hits him square in the cockpit and I'm satisfied with my contribution to the kill even though I'm certain that the end is near. Regardless I torso twist to present my left arm. His PPCs fire but theres no shake, no death and my mech's paperdoll doesn't even flash! The pilot just barely missed me. I swing back to face him and a second AC20 shell takes out his cockpit.
I love that gun...

Since Conquest is broken as hell on the big maps, I realise we're going to lose, and just shrug and press forward into an Atlas and Hunchback while the rest of the team are stumbling around behind cover. Somehow (they both overheated), I kill both with some careful AC/20 shots, and last till the inevitable cap-out. Only two kills anyone on my team got, and there were four people with sub-100 damage, Sometimes losing can be fun if you resign yourself to it and just try to die hard.

Tourmaline:
I'm in a 6 LL stalker, a mech I've used since only a few days after it came out. I love it -- sure, it's heaty as hell, but 54 alpha to a single location is marvelous. (Temporarily using arm lock helps, but this was before that, I think)
I end up with 2 of my teammates, both lights, in a depression in the ground, facing off against another 6 LL stalker, a medium, and a heavy. They all immediately targeted me, for obvious reasons, and, undamaged as I was before then, I didn't immediately die. There's a very fun tactic to this mech to down assaults; don't aim for the torsos -- GO FOR THEIR LEGS. Even on an enemy assault with no ammo in the legs, the legs are still a wonderful target, as, like the arms, the damage all goes to one location, no matter where on the leg you hit them. I managed to get off 5 alphas before the battle was over. All 5 hit his legs. First alpha was the right leg; brought it to yellow structure from full armor. Second one ripped the leg off. Same on the other side, but it took 3 alphas because he twisted briefly.
He was pissed.
him: "YOU MOTHERF****R!!! YOU F***ING LEGGED ME?! [insert string of expletives here]"
me (unable to resist): "U mad bro?"
him: *ragequit*
And the funny thing is that this works on a lot of assaults. Even better than PPCs, I might add, because nobody expects you to do it. Seriously, who the hell aims for the legs on an assault mech? (A mindset which often makes people lower their leg armor.)
The answer?
Me. And anyone who knows this tactic.

I was in my Founders Atlas of Doom(2 x ERPPC, 1 x Gauss; pre-endo,DHS, PPC-buff) and I was lucky enough to have a 'This is Sparta' moment when my former allies tried to charge the choke point on Forest Colony at the point where the path to cave, path to base, path to middle ground and paths to smaller hills converge; I ended up taking down 4 or maybe 5 of them with headshots and raw blow-for-blow brawling(think it was a couple of Atlas and the rest Cats that I killed)... my most individualy satisfing battle ever.
Not quite as good as a solid tactic working perfectly though(the kind where minimal voice coms is needed and everyone works lke a well oiled machine... just cannot beat that).
