Ecm Increases Streak Lock Time

Apparently ECM wasn't a good enough SSRM counter already.

I have noticed streaks taking about twice as long to lock onto ECM mechs.

I guess this change was not worth putting in the patch notes :) .



Has anyone else noticed this, or am I just imagining things?

This has always been the case since ECM was introduced.

Just add artemis to your mech and you will be able to lock on in half the time.

What? An actual suggestion instead of a whine?

Btw, don't bother, I've already brought something like this up and it had decent support but ssrms are still unchanged.

Yea that's a mech lab bug that on the list of things to be changed its being exploited by just about everyone because the Streaks use the same coding as LRMs so all you have to do is pay 800,000 c-bills for a faster lock-on. There planning on writing a separate targeting hud for streaks so you don't get the effect without the extra tonnage of computers and component slots ammo will cost more too.

Just because there's no plan doesn't mean there not going to fix it at some point. There might be no physical way to do it yet under the current programing.

wtf? isn't making the mech untargetable enough to couter streaks?


do we have any solid proof that ECM increases lockon

smurfy's mechlab page has it listed.

Even moreso.. I've done enough playing with streaks to know this has been true for a long time.
