How many times have we heard something like this on the forums? Don't change PPCs, because lasers'll take over. Don't change LRMs because they'll be the new dominant boat. Don't change anything, apparently.
What is an MMO (yes yes I already had it argued this ISN'T an MMO but let's pretend it is and move on) that doesn't change stuff from time to time? I don't just mean additions, but also finding what's working, what isn't, what is working WAY too well and is therefore making other things by comparison not working too well.
The argument should not be IF, but WHAT, should be changed. We can certainly disagree there. I've seen lots of suggestions for how to deal with alpha-boating, from more penalties in heat scaling (devs apparently noticed enough to suggest internal damage) to outright nerfs (also apparently suggested by the devs regarding PPCs) and many many other things my sleepy head can't quickly remember now.

I am tired, too, but by another thing.
I am tired by the sheer amount of flawed and illogical diagnostics of what's wrong with MWO. You want an example? Take the current "weapon are fine, boating them isn't" theory. If said weapons are balanced, submitting them to a simple multiplication won't create an unbalance out of the void. You can't have "fine * X = OP". In math terms, it translate into affirming that 1x5=7. Ludicrous.
I am also tired of seeing all those half-assed proposals that are either:
- Ineffective to solve the issue (imaginary or real) they're supposed to fix.
- Have huge loopholes that anyone with two brain cells to rub together would find in 15 seconds flat.
- Create issues worse than what they solve.
- All of the above.
When I visit this forum, I often wonder... "Do these people actually
think about what they write? Or do they just post whatever crossed their mind the minute before?"
