Funny I was actually debating a YLW with the Hero mech colorizing. Though I do have the other A/AL/D already anyway...granted they lack the Sunburst pattern.

I own a lot of, well, a lot of mechs with a goal of collecting and mastering all of the variants (then sell the ones I dislike). If you can spare the space, I do recommend Yen Lo Wang and the X-5 (also got all the heros). Of the two if you can only get one I recommend the Wang. Though personally I miss the CN9-AH.

X-5 is good, but if you don't already have some experience with Cicadas, better to stick to what you have.

And for those couple of posters that bought something earlier in the day or even on Thursday...it's ALWAYS good practice to wait until they announce Friday's sale before buying anything. I did this once in another F2P game but never again!

I'll be the first to admit that I am not a fan of the F2P system. However, Free to Play means just that: you can play the game without paying a subscription or buying it. However, as games like this are expensive to run, forgetting the fact that developers themselves also need to eat and buy gas, money still needs to be made.

This is done by selling optional in-game items for real money. Ideally, these optional items are things that have little to no impact on gameplay: skins, custom colors, inventory slots, characters.

In the context of MechWarrior Online, this means skins, paint, mechbays, hero and champion mechs, and consumables.

Thus, being optional, you don't have to buy them, meaning that anyone can download, and play MWO without having to pay one cent, including not buying anything off of the micro-shop. If they want nice things, however, they have to give up some money. But with those nice things being optional, you can wait to buy them if it really IS a choice between a hero 'mech and gas.

Bought just one color ever and thats black. Not paying 1-2$ per freaking color thats just stupid. Bad enough that a hero mech costs 10-30$...
