Foot physics.
Is it just me that is bothered by the fact MW4 boasted mechs with feet that planted firmly on the ground regardless of incline and MWO developers decided this wasn't important and went with static animations? I can think of no excuses that would be acceptable as to why this was overlooked.
I can, however give three good reasons why this request should be taken seriously: 2013, CryEngine3, Giant biped combat vehicles.
Comon, no brainer.

MW4 had awesome walking animations. legs, feet and hips adjusting to your speed and angle of terrain. It was awesome. even when standing in place and turning, one foot would lift and the other rotate to turn your mech.
MWO does partially have it too..... when you stand still. =/

you expect them to do "foot physics" when they cant even make a proper air strike?

Models are alot more detailed now than MW4. I would imagine it is harder by a fair amount. However, I am sure they are still working on things such as this as it is in Beta. Not to mention MWO has MUCH more varied terrain than any previous MechWarrior.

this was in the game for like 2 patch cycles. it wasn't perfect.
then they took it out.
so i choose to believe they are currently perfecting it before putting it back in again.
PGI needs to make all their animators play MW4. Light chicken leg mechs are just so poorly anmimated for example the raven.

That's REALLY good to hear. I'm going to choose to make that assumption as well.
I agree about MW4's animations. There was something magical about how they moved; It felt like being in a MW2 pre-rendered opening video.
I'm actually to bet it's actually easier to get this done with CryEngine3, regardless of model complexity, because physics affect the skeletons existing animation through a set of rules, rather than morphing the model directly. I'm pretty sure that has been the approach to humanoid animation since Half-Life came out more than 10 years ago. Remember, Mechs have bones too!
