Hello, I'm new to MWO (played the original MW on DOS though.) I'm now looking to interact with the community more here on MWOmercs (I'm loving this simulator so far.) However the majority of the forums simply say CANNOT POST A NEW TOPIC.

So what I'm looking for is some info on this...How can I change my accout to allow posting access to these forums??

you might be looking through the forums like the command chair, where only the PGI staff can start topics (where other people can reply), or you can start topics in the correct sections of the forums.

I see. Thank you for the quick reply. I was looking to post under the most posted section (one of the general discussion ones) with an initial review of my first 2 weeks in MWO (pros and cons style.) I'll try to find a good spot for it.

the original general discussion forum has recently been closed. It was loud, messy, and rarely conducive to constructive conversation. I don't know what would be a good place to post a 'my first 2 weeks' type of post.

Yes and it allowed new players to see the seething discontent of the community. Apparently according to the dev team here, either the mods and staff couldn't handle this or the community is particularly toxic as every other game manages to have a General Discussion forum despite the state of the game. So some failure of the mods or community has forced them to keep the forums divided in the vain hope new players won't see that folks are upset with the poor balancing choices and glacial pace of development.
