Although Lyrans and Davions are two separate peoples, is it not joyful that they have come together to create the most powerful nation in the Inner Sphere? The joining of the two great houses marks a new beginning of an era of prosperity and new technology.
Indeed, it is joyful, cousin. It would be more joyful were the Federates not trying to adulterate our glorious beer with their decadence. Really, marshmallows in beer?

From all the opponents im eager to meet in battle, the Lyrans are on top of the list
This we have known for some time. Your alliance with House Liaio during their buildup to aggressive invasion of the Davion end of FedCom space means that it's been obvious you'd come north.
We have a saying: "Welcome to the wall of steel". In your case, the welcome will be warmer than you'd enjoy. You'd do better to turn your aggression towards the Liaio, who are only toying with you in any case.

There's always a trouble maker in every crowd.
Tho' I do agree with you that we are Lyrans not Fed-Com'ers. And I humbly submit that our years of prosperity and success is a tribute to our late Archon, Katrina Steiner. We have been profiting very well due to her vision and foresight. May many years of the same be in store for the Lyran people*.

Doubt not my love and respect to Katrina of sainted memory.

HAVE we been profiting from the FedCom, though? Bailing out the FedSuns wasn't cheap, and neither was bankrolling two wars. And Hanse's "gift" of the Sarna March is like when I bought my brother a Super Nintendo game I wanted to play one year for Christmas and called it "his present." The arrangement is pretty one-sided, especially since it ruined all of Katrina's work cleaning out the Officer corps with Hanse's impatience and heavy-handedness.
Excellent points, cousin. And have you seen what they call beer?

Though, just as any given Lyran is not necessarily a Steiner, any given Federate ("member of a federation"... like the Federated Suns) is not necessarily a Davion.
True. I hope that my usage above is correct. I used the word "Davion" twice - once in a context with parallel with "Steiner", and once referring to "Davion hegemonists". I believe both usages are correct, for it is not the FedCom people, but their ruling house who are hegemonists. If only the people could drink real beer, they'd be happier.

Have fun with the clan invasion. We of the Draconis March will shed few tears should you chose to dissolve our union. We embrace those who join us in friendship and solidarity.
What is this "clan invasion" of which you speak? Do you refer to the rumors of war from the Mariks?
