As of the latest patch (1.2.219), I am now experiencing random lockups of the game's visuals. The game will seemingly freeze, and sometimes sound may or may not continue to play. If I minimize the game (ALT + TAB) and bring it back up, the game's visuals stops being frozen. If I just sit there, the game's visuals stay locked up. The game may in fact unlock after a period of time, but so far the time has been too lengthy for me to properly test it without making my groups angry. If anyone knows why this might be happening, I'd love to hear some responses. So far, I have ruled out temperatures being a problem.

The tasking out and in again i have not tried yet. I killed the client on the task manager, but i also agree, i had this happen several times in not many games tonight.

OP, have you also submitted a support ticket with the DXDiag attached? These tend to get looked at quicker than forum posts.

Also, have you tried running the repair tool?

Happens to me last 2-3 months. Same way to solve...

Out of curiosity are you guys running windowed or fullscreen?

I get the same problem periodically. I'm running full screen.

This happend twice to me today, after I had already been playing a couple of hours.
It has never happend before and I played a good 6 to 8 hours yesterday
(I'm off work with a bad leg I mean )
Thanks for the alt tab idea I'll try it if I need to. But I rebooted and everything has been
good so far (fingers crossed).

Alt-Tab doesn't help for me. Running in windowed mode.

Had the same issue a few times. Fixed it 100% of these by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL and starting the task manger.

The second your screen comes back online to start this you can click into the game again and play fine

Do you play full screen or windowed? The method you describe does nothing for me.
