Play this

Also, it'd be nice if you could render a little dot falling out of the sky at a distance.

Having something slam into an enemy mech's windshield would be A++.

I demand that Daft Punk or disco music play when I swirl my lasers in the air repeatedly.

It gets the party started!

I have the habit of clearing my guns (when I started playing my groups would often randomize while looking the same) but never into the air. it's dumb. especially three minutes in...You really wnt to let the enemyh know where you are?

Yes, because the maps are sooo varied and it is always a huge surprise, "Oh look they are on the other side of the crashed dropship again did not see that coming!!"

And before someone mentions it, firing your lasers/PPCs in the air doesn't exactly negate the element of surprise (regarding the enemy knowing that your team has lasers or PPCs) these days, since most teams have at least two folks running those weapons. xD

Also occasionally the rest of the team will join in flailing lasers in the air and it's fun, so what.

et al

well the game isn't finishe and I (At least) have hopes of much more complex and tacticle mission goals than "Do we charge up the center or sweep aroung and cap". or "which direction do we circle on conquest."

I second this. Also, pulse lasers firing like the dubstep gun from the new saints row gameplay vid would be something I would pay for.

I'm sorry do people actually use testing grounds to check where their heat threshold is??

I thought that is what the start of the match was for?

I start every match chain-firing my PPC's until nearing overheat. I generally aim directly overhead or a close-by peak near the enemy start base. It just gives them something to think about while they move up. Additionally, where there is a choice where they will move to "center to their doom vs flanking maneuver we aren't ready for", I will generally lay some covering-fire the way I DO NOT want them to go. ...as they approach the split, they see ppc's laying-waste to the left and clear-skies to the right. ...they go right.

Don't assume we're just doing it for fun. ...unless I'm team'd up, In which case I always shoot PPC circles around my teammates to get their adrenaline pumping for the match!

I hate it when people fire off ordnance for no reason. It makes me nervous for two reasons:

1. The majority of the time, it means the players are noobs and that we're probably going to lose the match.
2. Friendly fire caused by reckless idiots f@#king pissses me off.

Back before Testing Grounds was available to test out heat and weapons grouping it was annoying but forgivable. Now that players have a place to test their weapons, there's absolutely no excuse for this behavior at all...unless you are intentionally trying to be a douche.

In fairness, this game is getting so boring some of us probably need the stimulation just to stay awake.
