Increasing the spped and changing the arc results in more hits which equals more damage. Right now ALOT of LRM's just never hit.

So are they going to increase damage or not? I don't care about the arc of fire as much.
The Firing Pattern, Speed, and Arc of Fire will all contribute to higher damage. Host State Rewind also goes in. Also, the damage values are changing.
Basically, Tuesday will bring a horde of changes to Missiles along with some other weapon tweaks. These changes should bring back LRM's as a viable primary weapon, bring Brawling back, and the number of Jump Snipers should see a significant decrease.

The missile arc + missile speed is probably going to be more of a buff then the HSR / un-nerf.
Why? because lowering the arc, by itself, means missiles will get there faster, then on top of that they will travel faster so that will make them harder to dodge / hide from ... which will increase damage in general.
Then when they add in HSR (next week), that will make more hit, at least on faster moving targets. Then if they un-nerf raw damage and splash damage? That trifecta might actually make them too powerful.

They are completely reworking LRM's.
The speed change has nothing to do with that.
I asked Paul if he could elaborate about the changes a bit on twitter. He said they go whooosh and powww!!! I asked him if they could go powwww with 4 W's instead.
But he didn't reply.

Yea lets go with a 4th community ban due to Missile warrior. I mean we all knew it was going to happen we just expected it a little longer than a few month before they caved in.
The things they do to destroy there own game makes me laugh The 4th time.

Truth is out guys. LRM's are fine as they are, and will remain at approximately their current level of effectiveness. Good news is, they're still decent, if you know how to use them.
That you say your LRM's have been parked for months is laughable. First off, they were seriously OP within that time frame, so you're overstating how long you have parked them. Second, it sounds like you only play them when they're absurdly OP.
I'm sorry the current meta's fotm requires aiming, but you are going to have to deal with it. Start practicing, and eventually you too will thrive in a mech warrior that requires more than an auto aiming lock-on from 1000 meters.

Well hate to break it with you but the developers think youre wrong, which is why the changes are in progress.
Regardless of community stance on the meta (which is mostly negative) they're going to change it.
