Is this what PPC meta has done to us?
I fear for the future.

It's a good thing.
By the way, I had 4 matches today where one team would just camp base on Assault. 2 of them were Tourmaline, 1 was Alpine, 1 was Frozen City. In one match, we just stared at each other for 5 minutes before something happened.
Why is this a good thing? Because Assault mode is a very flawed game mode and it needs to be changed, preferably replaced completely by another game mode. Right now, people are constantly getting annoyed by each other, for one reason or another.

They should get rid of the base cap and in the final 3 minutes of the game all Mechs should show up on your hud, though obviously not be targetable by missiles until the proper conditions are met.

That would be a pretty terrible idea. A new game mode would be more than efficient to fix the problem.

Why? It gets rid of the lame base cap and camp issue and encourages people to get out there and fight before they are revealed.

A straight TDM could end up with a situation where two mechs both run out of ammunition and can't finish each other off.

I have never witnessed this. It would make sense for assault game mode to have someone lay back and watch the base. They would of course be in big trouble if the rest of the team is destroyed.

And they probably would be being outnumbered and all. Especially if you leave a big mech behind.

Exactly. Everytime this has happened in a game I am in, it is an assault made for long range, that gets killed by a single light trying to cap anyway. Really puts a dent in the main line force.

I see 2 possible causes for this:
A. People are starting to get more intelligent and take action instead of whining / People are starting to realize whining doesn`t protect against caps, defense does.
or
B. I`ve been winning so much that my Elo has risen to the point where my enemies play intelligently instead of "hulk want smash robots"
To be honest, seeing the forums basically unchanged vs last week, I think A can probably be ruled out

I swear I try to give benefit of doubt to everyone's opinion but sometimes I'm at a loss...

Did 8v8s a couple weeks ago and an entire team camped the ridge line above the upper Alpine base. Of course by SCOUTING I saw them up there without them even noticing me (I mountain climped the whole outside of the map so I was where no one EVER LOOKS).
We came up with an easy plan. instead of trying to out snipe them (we play with a lot of fast brawlers like hunchies, trebs and cents), we'd just base rush them.
I ran foward and squirreled like a boss, while the speedy mechs snuck into their city and started pushing the base.
Then all at once all 8 of us rushed that square and capped it in like 15s before the enemy could get out of their camp hiding hole. And anyone who did try to come down got obliterated.
How you lose your base when you're sitting literally 200m away while you can snipe the entire enemy team from 1k out easily as there isn't that much cover between the mountains and the capture point is beyond me, but these guys did it.
