Just add heat to Jump Jetsw to combat poptarts. Poptarting is a valid tactic but to limit it a bit just add heat to JJ's. Don't add more BS shake to cockpits.

You're right, it is a valid tactic. It's the pinpoint accuracy of the tactic that is the problem.
I imagine that you will still be able to hit your target, you just won't be able to hit CT every time.

We got AC-130's in Real Life flying at 20000 feet shooting 105 howitzers accurately in a dive at 300 MPH. Don't think pinpoint accuracy for using a JJ is a problem for technology.

And an AC20 should travel for miles before it becomes ineffective, but effective range in MWO is still 270m.
It's not about realism, it's about balance and fun.
Getting jump-sniped by 6 mechs isn't fun.

I agree about the heat but it is exactly correct to the game for there to be jitter when you jump. Hence the 3 point penalty to hit whilst jumping
the fix for poptarting exploitative alpha boats and most of the other exploits in play is the imposition of a proper heat system and convergence limitations especially beyond "Long"
range.

A lot of the problems would in this game would be fix with the proper implementation of heat penalties so yeah Jump jets should add heat along with a screen shake. A jumping mech should also be a bit harder to hit as per TT.

There is heat when you jump....
Wether it is enough is up for grabs, but don't make statements that are blatantly false.

We also got 100 ton, highly ineffective walking tanks with coilguns, lasers, missiles and ballistics that not only max out at ranges a good sniper can still hit with a Barrett M82, but with rising caliber the range goes DOWN. Don`t think reality is a problem for a BT game
