Has anyone seen any news on whether MWO will be allowing players to generate and implement their own maps? I would think it's unlikely that they've had the time to generate a map editor tool, but I'm curious if they plan to or have already started working on one. Some of the greatest maps I remember playing were generated by users. One of my most vivid memories is logging into PPP and seeing a chat room FULL of players with Red / Blue / Yellow callsigns (by using tags like {{R}}KH{{B}}ReD{{Y}}DoG for example!), and then the maps themselves being full of even more colors!

There was one map in particular for MW2: Mercs, and the name escapes me now, but the two sides would be dropped on the outer perimeter of a canyon-esque area, and then they'd both race through the canyon towards a central urban area to fight against each other. I remember one of the buildings having a huge satellite dish at the top of it. It was definitely my favorite map of all, and it was created by the players.

Also, look at games like SC2 and Warcraft 3...some of the best maps imaginable come from the players using the games' editors to generate amazing things.

According to the FAQ they're not planning one right now but may build a map editor after the game has been out. I agree that it would be a great idea.
