Lower pug vs premade occurrence rate. Getting matched against the same premade group of lights 4 times in a row during an evening shouldn't happen.

No 4-man light groups in Conquests. Pair this with the fact that the other team is probably a pug with 1-2 lights, you can imagine the AWESOME FUN they have.

No light-less teams.

I don't care, as a "lone wolf", if I have to wait 30 more seconds to have fun, I don't want to get ***** by premade groups constantly. 3-4 times a night is my ceiling. I'm pretty sure most of the community has issues with the matchmaking.

Or you could try making friends, no? At least that's what the pro-tip says, and that's just a tip...

Well there isn't exactly a lobby or anything in the game, so just making friends in this game is hard. I guess I could try checking out the NGNG TS for groups to play with.

There, I fixed it for you.

Personally I think there should be a solo player only que. That would make the MM work better for all IMO. Or you could make some friends and join an MWO unit and drop with them.

Or you could start right on this forum, here: http://mwomercs.com/...s-inner-sphere/

or here: http://mwomercs.com/...factions-clans/

I agree with you, BTW. The lack of a proper lobby is embarrassing...

I was in several matches this afternoon where half of my teams were light and medium Mech's in Assault mode, and the other team would have only 2 lights and the rest assault class Mech's. It's OK to favour Light and Medium classes for Conquest because they fill the primary role of capturing bases better, but in Assault they should be at the lowest priority for queues to be honest.

Actually, I was trying not to plug for my group, but you'll notice a URL in the signature... No real requirements. Just people who like to play MWO. TS3 is kind of a must though.

I could care less about the game type. I'm tired of the extreme mismatch in weight classes. 6 assaults versus 2 and on the opposite side also. ELO DOES NOT compensate for such ridiculously extreme differences in weight differences.

Can relate, match making is not very kind to solo players. Maybe it works flawlessly, but the results are ugly. It is like playing in November once again, where the side with prem wins always. Close matches are still rare. I would personally want to at least try a solo queue.

Add to that weight imbalances and frequent 7vs8 matches. I'm not talking about disconnected or AFK players, it is literally when 8th player on one side never joins but the game starts anyway. Had 6+ 7vs8 matches in one day, have several screenshots. It is beyound me why you cannot wait 20+ seconds for more players, which I would gladly prefer. 7vs8 matches are a waste of time.

Why keep mentioning the weight classes. It was important for previous games but it means squat with the current balance in MWO. The real problem has always been match maker putting premades with PUG's. Or worse, PUG's mostly made of people new to the game. Another annoyanceis that, usually Lights in Pugs just leave their team mates behind thinking they can take the enemy all by themselves and run into an 8 man on the other side.

I wholeheartedly agree with the stated issues with the Matchmaker. A month or two back there seemed to be a "sweet spot" whereby it was functioning more or less correctly; but lately (especially the last week or so), it has been absolutely abysmal. See the attached screens for examples of "balanced" matches, according to the current matchmaker (both were played today and thus represent a recent sample of what it is doing),

It isn't balancing by weights at all, and ELO subjectively seems to be completely broken -- rarely am I in a game where I feel that I am with peers. Either all of my team-mates are drooling fools; or I feel like I am in a game with aim-bots -- in the second case, my team wipes the floor with them with minimal (one or two mech) losses; and in the first situation we get killed the same way.

In general, matchmaking is IMO not working at anywhere near ; and the game is incredibly frustrating due to it.

How about this one from today...look at the match scores and tell me that all my team-mates and I were in the same ELO bracket...(before you say "you were down 1"...look at their team...they had a 0 damage guy so it was really 7v7...and we had the tonnage advantage!). I actually sent this one to PGI as a bug report. Hopefully they can get the MM fixed.

Subjective again, but this is just a sample of the tremendous frustration currently running through the game: spawned on Frozen City, conquest. Half of our team (an entire lance) never left Sigma, our starting point. Literally made no move to leave the vicinity. This was so obvious that not only did my team notice, but our enemies noticed and commented on it - in fact we were chatting about it (none of that lance spoke or said anything about it, of course).

I may not be the best at this game, but I refuse to accept that I am in the same bracket as that lance within ELO. Absolutely refuse to accept it.

Obviously, we lost: 8-kills-to-1-kill.

The matchmaker is making stupid games.

Holy crud, that looks painful, Deacon. The weight imbalance to start with; and then to see it go so far the other way. :-/

My condolences.

Thx...I don't mind losing a well-fought battle. Props to the other team if they win. But that is so NOT what that game was!

I just dropped against Koreanese/JP/Siba in a pop-tart premade, twice in a row. The games ended in the expected way -- the first with a complete loss (one kill for my team); and the second with an almost-complete-loss (three kills for my team, screenshot attached).

Though this affirms my "I'm not nearly ****** enough to drop with a lance that refuses to leave Sigma on a conquest drop" belief, it's also incredibly frustrating because I know damn well that I'm not good enough to step into the arena with those guys. So... thanks, PGI, but I'm done for today. Fix your gerdamn match-maker, because how it functions now does not pass muster in any way, shape, or form.

The thing that first popped out to me was the weight of BOTH teams. 615 vs 595. This game has gotten so tonnage heavy, it's ridiculous. I mean, it makes sense because playing a heavy or an assault is the only way to not get instagibbed these days, but damn. This is just too much.

Ideally the matchmaker should make the average team weight between 400 to 600 tons allowing for mostly medium and heavy mech compositions. I personally think the matchmaker should aim for 510 tons so that each match has 2 mechs from each weight class in it.

When 12 v 12 comes out the optimal tonnage should be somewhere between 600 and 900 tons.

Agreed that both the teams were massively heavy. This particular screen was less an argument about tonnage, though (the teams are close enough that tonnage is a wash); but simply a point about ELO not working. No-one on my team in the screenshot should have been in a game against that premade of JP/Koreanese/Siba poptarts... and having to be the grist twice in the row is just the game giving me the finger.
