Don't get me wrong. The UAV module is AWESOME. It just means, once again, the Narc is pitifully obsolete.
Even with the buffs.


I have always thought of Narc as a niche weapon, not very useful unless part of an over all strategy. That said you have to remember that UAVs and Narc are different tools for different jobs. The UAV targets all of the enemy in it's AoE but, gives no other bonuses. The Narc speeds locks up time and 50% more missiles hit.

Like it, it very useful if u have LRM mates.
Also, i think need add some sound to all allies what you just used UAV.

LRMs love it... etc. Its of and along with some other recently added things ends up diminishing the brawling experience. Please don't make it last long than it does... if anything make it shorter. The game has suddenly gotten to where there is no place to hide & ambush, sneak to flank or brawl.

Love this thing. At least twice last night (in PUGs), the enemy was just on the other side of a ridge or a line of buildings, I crept up the the near side of the cover, popped the UAV and ran back to safety. Lit the entire enemy team up and when they tried coming around the cover, my whole team saw them coming and focused them down.

Countering it is a bit tricky with the 180m detection range. I only saw an enemy UAV once, and only for a split second at that. Don't know if it was destroyed or expired or what. The nice thing is that I could target with R, but maybe the opposing team detection range should be adjusted a bit.

Is there some sort of animation on the outside of your mech when it launches into the air, or is it just magically spawned above my head?

I'd say that UAV is right where it should be, it is good in some situations and completely worthless in others or if the fight does not work out as you expected.

I've tried this a few times, as it apparently cuts through ECM. However, while I can target mechs with it up, I'm unable to get missile (re: SSRM) locks on them. I'd assumed you could use it at short range to be able to achieve SSRM locks on ECM mechs (until it's destroyed or times out).

Is it not working correctly, or am I just misunderstanding it's features?

Great module and really helps the game. No ******* reason for a time limit. That's just stupid and immature game design. Please stop breaking the game continually.

Radar Icon needs to be smaller - it often obscures what it's supposed to be displaying! UAV distance, duration is fine. Definitely helps with PUG coordination, since you don't have to type out contacts.

O sorry its not only for money, u need to grind for a year to have that 15 more sec. Only the guys who give real money will have 15 more sec. Officialy its not p2w, but actualy it is. Who will grind for 3 month's to have that. No one!!! Only the guys who will pay for real money will get that. I am scared it's only a begining. You can buy the advanced version with either cbills or MC, theres no pay to win.

Like all F2P games, you pay to reduce the grind/costmetic stuff. Theres no weapon or equipment buyable with MC that you can't get with cbills.

It's great help when you can pop one to melt ECM when you're overwhelmed in city fighting. We beat a 4 D-DC group when I popped my UAV and we focused them down!

Even hero mechs (well, I know there is nothing actually special to pay for except everybody has to remember all those mech names)? :D

Reading all that whining here and there makes me wanting to spend some c-bills to try that thingy, especially on may 60-missile ka-boom boat ;)

Awesome consumable and I think very well balanced.

One thing you may want to clarify is that...

"The UAV can target all Mechs that are shielded by ECM within sensor range and will share this with your team"

I really like this module, been running my spider 5D with it. Spent my hard earned GXP to get the UAV Upgrade, Will work towards the Improved UAV next.. Should be a nice counter to a pack of poptarts or assaults. Hardest part is having LRM support in PUGs. Good stuff. :(

Question: Is it the intended design effect that you still cannot achieve missile lock on ECM mech within UAV sensor range?

Case in point. I was running a StreakCat with BAP. I ran into two Raven 3L and since BAP countering ECM is 1:1 ratio. Both started to chase me down. I fired off UAV and while we were all withint UAV range, I able to achieve target lock (R on 3L) but missile lock was not possible. So I was useless until my buddies came and countered the other ECM.

I thought you can achieve target lock ® and missile lock within ECM bubble range if you had UAV in the air. Is this not correct?

I really like the UAV but it would be nice if you could get spotting bonus for the Mechs the UAV detects.

You should set the uav altitude to a fixed lvl above ground. If you use a Spider with JJs and jump all the way up, launch your UAV there, it is not visible/targetable/destroyable from the ground.

Other than that, it is a pleasure to use if you have LRM buddys.

If it would not cut through ECM, everybody would ignore it and stay with that D-DC.
