who uses this configuration first, or you won't live to regret it. Mathematically, this is the strongest possible build in the game right now.

Can't tell if trolling or just didn't look at the armor. I'm not sure what kind of math you're using but my math says that you should have armor on both arms :D. Perhaps you could drop the case (since you have an XL anyways) and use that to protect your left arm. Other than that it looks pretty scary.

you forgot armour on the right arm. but one of ammo allows for it. Legs are a bit weak.

I go for the legs a lot more nowadays.

True on the errors. I'm having trouble fixing the url and I have no idea why.



Fixed now. Apparently the URL doesn't update unless you remove and readd one of the weapons, which is why that bugged url made it into the post.

Leg total armour is still 66. That's higher than any of the torsos... while there are leg aimers and such, most weapons and players still aim for the torso. Such as counter-LRM fire.

Mind you, I'm not hoping to see more of these in the game. Just consider me a 'white hat hacker'.

Are you suggesting that we should prioritize targeting the Users who exploit currently bugged weapons mechanics, such as the artificially-steep LRM descent and the Streaks-to-CT phenomenon?

Because... well, any Catapult-A1 I see on the field gets that special targeting bracket already ;-)

It's not a suggestion. It's advice. :D

And don't forget the splash increase. That's actually the main reason why the missiles are all currently broken... even the flight path isn't as bad.

50 shots with the streaks and only 30 with the lrms? I'd swap.
Also, streaks not that great. I'm not saying its a bad mech, but it's no more op than any of a dozen mechs that carry lrms, and weaker than many assaults in terms of firepower and survivability.

Yes, they ack owledge lrms are op.
Streaks are not NEARLY as deadly as people seem to think. Oh noes, 0.86 dps to the ct. Half as much as an mpl if you can aim.
My x5 isn't dying to 2ssrm 2s like I carry. It's dying to people who can aim lasers :-).

They just feel strong because normal srms have been quite bad since nerf.

You're forgetting the greatly amplified splash damage. The damage is much closer to 1 dps per streak missile all included, or 4 dps in the usual 2x configuration... about equal to 3 medium pulses if all shots hit, except very few pilots ever hit me with lasers at all.

I've not died to any laser users any more often than 5% of the time even as a CDA-3M pilot for a while. Most of the time it's because of accurate shots with PPCs, AC/20 and Gauss (60% ish), and the rest are to tracking missiles. Unguided SRMs are so rare nowadays I can't evaluate its effectiveness against me since... it isn't used against me. This was prior to patch.

Now it's nearer to 40% death from LRMs, 30% from streaks and 30% from PPC-AC/20-Gauss. Haven't died to lasers yet since the patch.

It's neat, but my long-range dedicated Stalker would hammer that thing into the ground. It has a TAG, a Beagle, Artemis, x2 LRM15s, x2 LRM10s, x4 MLs, and near full armor. If you could get within 179m, 12 points of damage is not going to chase anyone off.

And I don't even want to talk about an LRM-dedicated Atlas or Highlander.

That said, I so love Catapults, but all the weapons have their weaknesses. Once they fix the LRMs so they're not ONLY hitting the CT, it'll level out a bit more.

As a support mech, though - I would love to have that Cat running shotgun (literally, given all the missiles).

Lol, Hayashi, I've been running that in my A1 for a month. 4 Streaks, 2 ALRM15s and BAP. Yesterday it just got a whole lot better.
