I know it's been said many times, but why does a 50 ton treb look so huge? They're almost Awesome-sized.

Because size has never equalled weight in the TT, look at the timberwolf 75 tons of mean killing machine yet it's shorter than most mechs.

Because with 3 dimensions, height is not the only measurement.

Besides, I have no idea where people get this idea the Trenchbucket is so big. I look at it standing next to other mechs and have never found it to be very large.

Have a trebuchet stNd nxt to a cataphract. It is mind blowing. The treb looks like an assault mech by comparison

It's already stupid easy to hit mechs.

Make the treb, dragon and awesome smaller. They really need it.

The dragon's fast, so the large size is a balancing point, the bucket is hard to hit side-on and the awesome.
Well the awesome could use a size change.

Um, that was true before HSR. Anyone who has issues hitting mechs atm due to speed (unless they're tiny) is being bad at the game, really bad.

or you know, not at spitting range.
Holding a laser on a fast target at 1km is HARD, leading shots likely less so, but still.

And yet this is a game, and certain Mechs need re-sizing for balance. Centurion-Treb Shorter (equalized to Hunchback Height/Width) and Awesome over-all needs to have its width shrunk and modified hitboxes.

thats funny because if they made the cataphract bigger it'd be the size of the atlas.

after all the trebuchet is the size of the awesome. if you want to make anythign bigger than the trebuchet, you are in atlas size range.

Think of him as the tall and skinny guy who's also a fast runner.

He's not that skinny. Not from the front. And considering he has to face you to fire you'll be seeing a lot of his front.

Is it unreasonable to consider just making the mechs all the canon sizes they are actually suppose to be?

'Actual Size'.

They're PPC food enough as it is. The last thing they need is a nerf. Just scale down all of the mediums except the Hunchie (which is in a fairly good spot).

On the contrary, mediums need to get smaller.

Both can't take many hits from high alpha builds, but at least the light has the speed and size advantages to maybe have them miss. When you're as large as a heavy, but have far thinner armor, your survivability isn't very high.
