Go for it, I normally zoom into the other teams area to see where the test fires are going off. A lot of time you can watch exactly where they are going by the number of times the fire monkeys keep "testing" their weapons. Now if a team mate shoots me then we have another issue.

Perhaps this will help?
Other than the you do it for fun part that's a personal thing not going there and firing in the air isnt really what my post was about but it may answer a few where do i test this or that questions.
