Just so I'm clear on this. You removed splash damage but did not buff individual missile damage to compensate? In addition to nerfing the **** out of the arc. Nerfed into complete uselessness, just like I figured. Let the poptarts rejoice.

Im just laughing at this thread. Im sorry but please, try to convince me properly that LRMs are being nerfed completely. I admit, I use a jump sniper, and a PPC boat... and the new LRM damage is GOOD. It forces me to think more about how Im moving and taking cover. The problem I have with them currently is the fact that they come down way too steep. An office block should give me cover, but Im consistently being hit. I also do think LRM range should be upped, and be able to use spotter mechs like Ravens with TAG .etc.

PGI are doing a good job guys. Unless you yourselves are games devs, then please, give them some respect. They are making this game for you to enjoy (for free I might add) and putting many long hours into it. Give em your support instead of bitching at them. Constructive criticism, not bitching, works.

OK. Well, I admit to having weapons I like better than others...but I also want every weapon in the game to have a role so there is variety and balance. Let's see what the hotfix does...then you can gripe all you want ( and who knows, I may join you!).
the hotfix doesn't need to be out, they've stated what they're doing and the only things on the list are nerfs.

They upped the LRM damage AND the speed on tuesday..jesus...

edit: AND the arc will still be a lot better tomorrow than it was last week.

and now they nerfed it by "drastically lowering splash" and the 20 M/S speed buff is like arguing that the EMP effect on PPCs was a major buff.

The arc is what let them "counter/punish" poptarts and ridge huggers :/

Sorry if I don't believe that was enough to make them useful. All we got Tuesday was a 20% damage and speed increase. Well, I've got news for you, every other weapon in the game(except MG and Flamer) is more than 20% better than an LRM per ton.

I come back off the test rang to try out the update and Map and like it all,But what do thy do thy Nerf the LRM after one week of play after braking it for 2 mouths.
Looks like i be going back to the test Rang and not spending my money on MC again.

That's simply disingenuous...they just buffed the LRM's MORE THAN THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN...so there should be a nerf correction. Again, usability and role should be the goal, not making one weapon so OP that everyone brings one.

The LRM damage WAS good because of splash. Now that is removed and base damage is not upped to compensate so you can go back to not fearing LRM's and ruining everyone's fun with your pop tarts and PPC boats.

There was already multiple counters to it that I use and try to defend (albeit badly) against. Light wolfpacks (2 or more), brawlers .etc.

The arc doesnt punish or counter, it makes it just that little bit too overpowered. I wouldnt mind them keeping the splash damage even. But if I cant take cover behind a building in a Raven because the missiles come OVER and around it, then Im sorry but there is a problem.

If the devs saying damn near exactly (the only more specific they could be would be if they posted exact numbers) what they're doing isn't proof enough for you then the problem is you and the LRMs weren't "over buffed" they just didn't fix the LRM splash bug... it only looks like they where over buffed because they upped the dmg without fixing the splash bug.

Except for the flight path LRMs were about correct on damage. Damage splash might have been too wide, but no one ran straight at me when I launched LRM30 at them, which is what players usually do, historically, when you launch LRMs in MWO.

And I think that's my line with LRMs. When players run straight at you under LRM fire the whole way, and are usually winning when doing this... I will strip every LRM from my mechs. And if that's all the Mech was good for I will park it and buy no more similar mechs.

I also think LRMs are in general so weak in MWO (or have a tendancy to be very weak) that they should be Fire and Forget with a direct line of sight. Otherwise why on earth would you take LRMs over direct fire in a game with no Lag.

BTW, Congratulations on snagging #19 in PC Gamer's top 25 shooters OF ALL TIME!!!

I've never seen the LRMs arc THAT badly, (and I do/did run them). and the Arc did punish/Counter poptarts because in general a poptart hides behind a ridge/ledge that's just high enough for them to pop over and fire their PPC and/or Gauss. the new arc allowed (if they where spotted by a scout) the LRMs to crest the hill and still hit the poptart instead of lazily crashing into the ridge in front of them.

LRMs were buged because splash damage converted on CT, it was way to easy to core a mech like this. They are not nerfed they are fixed. You still got speed increase and damage per missile increase now splash damage will be spread like it was supposed to. Deal with it.

Well, I for one am just gonna do like the poptarts and ridge humpers did, and cry on the forums till they "fix it". I bet if we create 10 different posts saying how UP missiles are they'll fix them. Oh wait, we've been saying that for months and they just ignored it. Can we at least get them to officially rename the game to Poptarts Online?

Edit: Before anyone says anything about me not being able to kill them. I can, it's not even hard. It's just not fun.
