I post this elsewhere - so going to quote myself:

Was splash dmg in TT? I am trying to figure out why it is even in game. The warheads on these kinds of missiles should be HEAT/HEAP, so while it is explosive, it is directional (shape charge) so the damage out around it is much more minimal, esp when you are talking about advanced allow armor - 1000 years from now, I would assume is something better than we have now. I can see the damage being applied to the armor, but it seems the splash should be neglible damage to the armor surface. It just doesnt make sense. If you argue the WH is a dual purpose HE/HEAT, then fine - but the damage would need to go down, as the HE portion would not be very effective vs the armor (but much more effective vs internal components).

Further, the missiles are falling all over the mech - do we really need splash when you just got "splashed" by the barrage in general?

As is, it is a pretty super weapon - the core seeker....almost like long range streaks!

I had seen a note a hotfix/patch might come....I think this is paramount. Please consider doing away with splash damage, I dont think it makes sense, frankly, unless it is a legacy from TT...and again, I consider abandoning.

Fixing splash damage and missile trajectory is locked in. It will happen. Fixing splash damage will reduce core damage from LRM considerably. We can't evaluate what a realistic damage splash from explosions will bring to the table until it works..
