I don't think that we will se any Machine Gun armed Vici...
reason is simple... they have just 0.5tons of ammunition... a feature we don't have actual.

So the variants is B, K and S. optimized for ballistic, energy and missiles.

That's not hard to fix, don't you think? Drop 0.50 ton of armor and you are done.
Without the multi-ballistics Victors, the chassis is crap!

Well with implementation of the VTR-9A there will be hardly any other other Victor in the game.
Because its major flaw are the 8.5 tons of armor - nothing that is a concern of yours.
(what is really curious: because we have a magical barrier that will not allow us to mount a something bigger as a 340 XL into a Catapract - but we can take any ammount of armor we want to have)

After that you have 2 energy in torso and 2 energy in arms, 1 ballistic in arm and 1 ballistic in torso. Lucky it is not possible to have 4 PPC and 2 GaussRifles....but its possible to have 4 PPC and 1 Gauss or 2 PPC and 2 Gauss.... for the price of speed.... that is no problem for a jump sniper.

BTW: because I did not mentioned it:
I really like to see the Victor (Lu Wei Bing :) ), but I admit that I'm still missing the ZEUS

Oh, just removing single Jump Jet to add half-ton of MG ammo and half-ton of armor to stock 9A/9A1 loadouts is unlikely to cause a great debacle (removing half-ton of armor is another story - 9A1 and especially 9A are already underarmoured when compared to 9S and 9B).

Given that PGI has already doubled the number of Armor Points per ton, shaving-off a half-ton of armor (3 pts from each leg & 2 pts from each arm & 2 pts from each frontal torso section, for example) to accommodate the MG ammo still results in the 'Mech being rather significantly armored.
(Alternatively, PGI could also finally implement the ability to load MG ammo in half-ton increments.)

Though, that would depend on PGI actually wanting such 'Mechs in-game, likely with the specific intent of providing the ballistic platforms.

There is a chance, however, that PGI could skip the 9A and 9A1 in favor of the 9B (the basic/common variant), 9S (comes with a larger SRM launcher; potentially "the missile variant"), 9D (the model portrayed in the announcement story and artwork), and 9K (identical stock specs to the 9D, but can be made different through hardpoint inflation).

Why not? If we ever get a dual (or triple) Gauss, AC/20s assault, it is a good thing that mech is only 80 tons (less weight for being overpower). Putting 3 heavy ballistics in the Victor implies small engine, no jump, no backup weapons, low armor... a lot of sacrifices. It could be fun to try, tough. ;)

Heck just putting 3 AC10's drops it to about 44 tons. The Awesomes standard engine and armor take up about 40. You'd HAVE to use an XL to do something like that reducing your survivability.

It is based on the Charger (with a Thug-like loadout).

A melding of the popular Star League era Thug and the poorly regarded Charger, the samurai themed Hatamoto-Chi was the first post-Succession Wars DCMS BattleMech constructed utilizing recovered LosTech.

Both I guess. Good call.

Blame the game! Cuz of course your system is perfect and you've done everything to make it work. Right?

If your problems are that severe I would do more than just reinstall the game. I would wipe my system, rebuild it clean, reinstall my stuff.. then the game. If that didnt work i would take a hard look at my hardware for compatibility such as RAM type and matching, remove any overclocking, bios updates, etc. With thousands of people playing this beta successfully on marginal machines, chances are its you.

I've actually had a similar problem quite often. The issue is caused by malformed packets in the software that we as players cannot control. Like him I:

Updated graphics drivers
ran the MWO repair tool
contacted support and followed every step
uninstalled and reinstalled the game
among countless other attempts at fixing it

This attitude of yours doesn't help. In fact I still have the problem on occasion. It usually flares up right after a patch but lately it's been hit or miss. Sometimes I can play 3-5 matches without trouble. Then I could play 2-5 matches and crash every time.

At ease. Im not the one who is flinging spit at PGI and threaten to rage quit. We are beta testers and this isn't a finished product. If it was post launch and I still had issues like yours then yes I would call it a crappy game. You, my friend, at least dealt with your situation constructively. I'm willing to bet that he hasnt done half of what you have done to resolve your issues.

Actually, Victor is made exclusively in St.Ives and Draconis Combine and uses Pontiac 100 AC/20, which is made in Taurian Concordat. It uses Holly SRM-4 made on... wait for it... St.Ives. Well, I guess it's really a true Davion mech... one not made by them at all. :)

she waits till just before it had her in his sights to trigger her jump jets. Twin PPC blasts hit the ground where she was, followed by a gauss round, as her second gauss shot smacks into its side torso.

Anybody else bothered by how this would only work in a pug, probably against a joystick user? At least so well, it almost suonded like the atlas aimed for the shoes. I get it's supposed to be fluff, to hype and it's supposed to be like the BT books, but honestly pilots are so ****** in the BT universe it's just insulting to the player, who can actually aim.

I'm also seriously confused by PGI's balancing techniques; the meta is dominated by poptarts and triple/quad PPCs. So you add another assault with jump jets????? I don't get it. Mediums just stop mattering more and more.

Unless I'm missing something huge in one of the variants, this strikes me as a smaller highlander. Less armor, less slots, same ****. Why? It's niche is already filled; a strong poptart that can deliver a powerful alpha, ontop of a giant ballistic slot for the arm. The only reason I could see taking it over the highlander is looks preference. Please prove me wrong. And don't say "when X is implemented", if something is UP or OP until a feature is put in, it shouldn't be in game. Otherwise it's just a waste of resources.

Aside it's a cool mech, and a nice design. I just don't see why I'd take it over the highlander the way the game is. PGI seriously needs to get the actual game finished before they keep ******** out more mechs and useless micro* transaction premium content.

*Because I could buy dinner, or I could buy a paintjob for a mech, that's not micro, stop gyppin me, seriously. I got EXPANSION PACKS for the cost of a single mech now. I don't know about the rest of the playerbase (well, yeah I do, it's middle aged guys who don't care about their money anymore cuz they waited 12 years for this gam, so they throw down 40 bux for a hero mech or two), but personally I don't like the thought of having to spend hard money on a mech that I might not even like that much.

Yah but the St. Ives and Fedcom are buddy buddy during this time period, and I think the Fedcom was buying pretty much the whole production line of Victors as it was a popular assault mech in their forces. Besides, they eventually get a Victor plant on New Valencia during the civil war, so lets us Sunshine boys enjoy our Victors. Though I always find it funny that Hanse Davion's favorite Rifleman variant replaced its AC5's with PPC's. Strange for the House that loves Dakka so much. :)

And, on top of that, the FedSuns-designed VTR-9D (in addition to being purloined by the Combine and designated as the VTR-9K) features not an autocannon, but a Gauss Rifle. :)

Is it just me or does the victor look to have an exceptionally small center torso? Its even concave to the side torsos so it will be hard to get at from any angle other then straight in front. Without center torso weapons its not quite a scaled up centurion but it looks like it would take quite a lot of effort to kill.

Also, the shoulders are FAR too small. the most notable thing of the original art was its massive, flat shoulders. I mean seriously, you could land an aerospace fighter on those things! I demand larger shoulders!

It's got a 320 engine and jump jets. That means max engine rating 385, same as the AWS-9M, but with jumpjets, and a body that won't be hideously designed and easy to hit. Get ready for assault mechs with jumpjets going 90kph. Once this comes out the one reason to take an Awesome (the 9m, for its speed) will be gone.

[Redacted] "They are so bad at aiming it's insulting to the player!" is full of 2 19. I'll put you in a machine, then heat it up to some 120°C and leave you with a joystick for aiming. No convergence, those machines use good ol' fashined aiming. That a stupid computer does magic and you can hit something in a video-game means nothing when compered to real shooting, let alone BTech shooting... So cut it out.

I'm sorry if you [Redacted] got upset about me telling you the truth about how things are and that you aren't top-of-the line commando from playing Call of Duty 3-billion....
