Oh boy, another jump sniper. PGI sure do love them.

I guess it opens up the first jumping dual ac20 variant (VTR-9A)
And the first mech ever to have let mounted weapons (VTR-9A1) (and knowing PGI, they will put 2 ballistic hardpoints in each leg)
And it is probably mech 20 because it will have a clan hybrid weapon system (VTR-9B)

all-in-all, pretty meh, I would have prefered the Zeus.

That would require a standard engine as one ballistic would be LT mounted, making it SLOW. Gawd awfully slow.
Variants will most likely be the 9A, 9B, and 9D.

The only time-line allowable variants for the Victor would be:
  • VTR-9A - An early variant of the Victor the 9A carries an additional Machine Gun and two additional Flamers. To add these three tons of armor was removed from the 'Mech. The additional weapons give the Victor very capable anti-infantry capabilities but with the thinner armor the Victor is more susceptible to being critically damaged by another 'Mech.
  • VTR-9A1 - A modification of the 9A model, the 9A1 adds only two Machine Guns to the 'Mech for anti-infantry use. The 'Mech has ten tons of armor, making it better protected then the 9A Model and the two Machine Guns allow the 'Mech to have excellent anti-infantry combat capabilities.
  • VTR-9D - An upgrade using Star League technology, the 9D replaces the Autocannon/20 with a Gauss Rifle which can do serious damage at much greater ranges. The 'Mech also carries two Medium Pulse Lasers and a SRM-4 launcher for close combat. In order to make these changes possible, the 9D is built on an Endo Steel chassis. With the weight saved the 'Mech also carries an additional ton of armor.
  • VTR-9S - The 9S Victor removes a ton of armor from 9B the and uses the saved weight to upgrade the SRM-4 launcher to an SRM-6 launcher. This simple upgrade makes the Victor more effective at close ranges.
I didn't list the 9K, simply because it's essentially the same as the 9D.

Wouldn't matter that it would need a Standard... it's an ASSULT MECH. It has the spare tonnage.

Exactly. Needing to fit a standard engine will still reduce its engine size and speed to around 50-60 kph. If gou cpmplain about a slow close range mech, then I dont know what to say.

You forgot the 9B, the standard model.

We may even get dual ballistics with the Orion which is only 5 tons lighter.

Victors will be as fast as the AWS-9M (faster than most other Awesomes, except the pretty baby)

Cannonically, the Victor. It has a 4/6/4 move on Tt while the Awesome has 3/5/0.

It'll be interesting to see what the hardpoints are, since the B, D, K, and S all have the same minimum hardpoints:
RA: 1B
LT: 1M
LA: 2E

And the A adds the following to that:
RT: 2E
LT: 1B

Please give me the Orion.

Looks awesome! My favourite of the old designs.
This one will put my Highlander to rest. Never jumped in my Highlander, perhaps I start jumping with this one.

Don't worry, the best mech ever is indeed the next to be released in-game :)
