No, just facts.

Here, here is a nice example of my steps working!

The D-DC, who was clearly carrying the team, gets 161 points for his effort.

My ninja Killstealing on the other hand?

192

Good job D-DC guy, I'm that much higher on the rankings cause of your work.

Now I just have to repeat this 9 more times.

The subtext made me spit my coffee up. I stopped the tournament stuff. Make it a tad more reasonable say your best 10 games out of 20/30 and Ill sign up with an option to mulligan 5 games because of Weight mismatch and disconnects. Gives you an even better chance against all the BS.

That's okay, bumping again for the new tournament.

OH LOOK DAMAGE IS THE ONLY THING AWARDED AGAIN!

SO MUCH FOR ROLE WARFARE AMIRITE?

Well, they changed/tweaked the formula again.

For every assist you get instead of a kill, you must still deal 150 more damage to make up for that... which is meh.

For a loss and/or death, you can make up the difference somewhat with 300 pts of damage for either situation. Although, I think someone wrote up the death math factor wrong.

The math is just bad.

I'm not sure how that changes what I said. Only one tournament thus far have they ever awarded something that wasn't damage orientated, and that was TAG/NARC. Hell, I think that would be brilliant to come back, because it forces all the ppc boaters to drop a heat sink or a ppc to fit a TAG in order to obtain maximum rewards.

Also, you are wrong. It now takes 600 damage to make up for a kill steal. They HALVED the damage bonus, not doubled.

Nevermind, you corrected.

Ya.....this tournament is going to be kill steal central, the only stat that matters. The top players are going to be anyone who gets 6-8 kills in each match for 10 matches.

I disagree I was the best and then GhostRider,MechPro,NeoThor,Hyabusa and down the line ETC ETC.OW sorry I forgot we played in real bracket tournaments for solo and teams where it was skill and tactical based mono E mono playing per battle.

Blah blah blah I'm sitting at #1 after playing like 20 games. Its not about grinding. Don't make excuses for your own poor placement OP and others.

Took about 4hrs to get onto the leaderboard. Same balanced mech. Same crappy matching... except it feels worse now... half the games... no assaults... its skill, building the right mech... and your team... you don't need 2AC20 or 4 LRM20 to make it...

I was doing this, until I had to sleep for work. It just sucks because I was only able to play exactly 15 games before work, 4 of which were horrible losses because MY PUGS WERE GEWD. I did manage 1400+ damage with 8 kills...but replicating that for 9 more games is just crazy. I just don't have the time.

If the tournaments were "first 10 games" instead of "10 best games" I would be able to shine this way IMO.

Again... went to first spot in... less than 6 hours... and I had dinner... still first spot... PUGS are PUGS it doesn't matter. Damage? Never above 800pts in a round... 8 kills and 1400pts? Well I guess you got it easier on the next 9 games! It's YOU... not the tourney.

Still, with all the above tips and exploits...how does one get to 1800 points in this tournament. HOW??? Could someone make an example calculation of what must be done to get a score like this?

I've had some good matches today, with up to 600 damage in my Dragon, 2 kills, 6 assists, many bonus points for component destruction and savior kills and such...and of course in the matches I talk about we also won. This equals to something around 300 points. Yes, three-hundred. 1500 less than the leader of the Dragon queue lol. :D

Not that I'm really interested in being up there, I know I'm not good enough. But I'm curious how they do it. :P

Grinding, grinding and more grinding and you need to be extremely lucky to get those 10 perfect matches.

That is actually 190 points 2 kills = 40 points, 6 assists = 90 points, win = 20, alive = 20, and 600 damage = 600/30=20 points.

40+90+20+20+20 = 190

Now just do that 9 more times and you will be near the top, but you will likely need even better games to win it. Maybe 4-5 kills instead of 2 and around 8-900 damage.

Winning tournaments, is about having:
- builds that can: kill or at least assist everywhere, put out decent damage, and survive.
- The skill to get the kills, survive, and put out decent damage
- The drive to grind and grind and grind until you get the luck that your team is just bad enough to not kill, but not bad enough to lose.

I usually quit when I get on the board once, since I enjoy spending my time during the weekend on other things.

I dont care about the tourney now and I did'nt before. Actually never cared. Just here to have fun because saying your top dog in Mech warriors is like saying your top dog in fantasy football. Its a game, get over it.

People have fun being competitive. You may as well tell everyone who plays any game or sport to get over it since it's just a game.
