I'm not mad at you, PGI. I'm just very disappointed.
PS: Maybe you can name 1 or 2 eight-man groups that can take out a A1 Streak-team, but the point is that I can name a thousand eight-man groups that will lose to them. So whether or not there's a single perfect counter is quite irrelevant.
It's because as much as they claim to, they don't actually test any of this stuff.
There used to be a mech like this in MWLL, it was the vulture B, it was great in duels, but it suffered the following issues.
- Nice big side torso's easy to hit from the front.
- Weak as **** armour because it's a freaking mad dog
- Streaks that didn't auto home CT
- Streaks that could be dodged
Whilst it was great in 1v1's if you could catch someone out with it, because of it's ability to screen rock them into oblivion, it wasn't amazing for team play because of its low range and paper armour.
Get rid of all those disadvantages, and put it on a moderately pacey platform with jump jets that cause desync issues, and you've basically got a consistent game winner.
Welcome to metagame we don't have a f*cking clue.

I love how the ngng narrator goes to great lengths to not call them OP. He calls them extremely difficult to counter. He says they're almost impossible to deal with. That he needs something heavier, or cheese of his own.
No, of course streaks aren't OP. It's completely normal that a 4 man of 65 ton mechs can just steamroll 95% of their competitors regardless of weight, composition, or skill. That's not overpowered at all. "Nothing you can do about that", right??
It's not "strong", it's just "highly uncounterable", right? The only way to deal with it is to bring a "counter group", or maybe even "there is no way to counter that".
And they spend all this time talking about how BAP is the problem.... I don't even know where to start with that.
Their sort of thinking is 75% of what's wrong with this game. This isn't balanced gameplay. Not even close.

Yes...known bug. Artemis reduces lock-on time for streaks without tonnage/crit penalty. Less than 1 sec locks are possible, and I use it on my highlander build...BAP+Artemis+Advanced Sensor Range+Target Decay is a wicked combo for Streaks.
Yes, but BAP only covers 0-150meters.
Advanced Sensor Range Counters 180-250 meters of ECM. Very foolish to value 360 over Adv. Sensor. Situational at best, and does NOT help with targeting. Seismic is better situational awareness than 360. Decay is what keeps the lock...who cares if you can still see a red triangle as opposed to a sonar blip?
Mr 144
Edit: Even as a light with a 4th module slot...Cap Assist is the no-brainer here. 360 literally has no place in anyones module repertoire
I disagree, I've seen some good light mechs who are very good at breaking streak locks via movement.
But I see where you are coming from with Adv. Sensor. I own all of them. The end result of my comment was, that modules have very good synergy with Streaks, more so than most other weapon types.

Yeah, I'm suspicious if the OP is also playing Neverwinter Online. Too bad 'Caturday' only resolved the problem of the day and not the two weeks prior to it...

Dude what? Streakcats are only good against players who suck.

I'll admit it is enjoyable though. Pot calling the kettle black and all that *whistles as he clomps off with his lance of 732s*.
