Hey! It's just like a game of find Kerensky!

Seriously though, 8 streakcats seems really rough. I do wonder though if an 8-man (equally well) coordinated team of assaults, say atlas or stalkers, could manage to focus fire down the cats quick enough to win. Sure seems the cats have the advantage given the easy aiming of the streaks, but they also have less armor than assaults. Guess the videos make that seem unlikely...

8 jagers, cataphracts, any assaults, hell, K2s will kill them if focusing and playing right.

True, SSRMs are easier to aim, but hardly the crazy thing they used to be.

I only saw this a few times before patch and it was using ECM, but even that was ultimately defeated.

But those AC40s, brah. They'll totally kill us in seconds. All the poptarts, too. How can a catapult defeat such modern monsters?

I don't get it... you lost. Why the boast?

Sure you pew pewed a lot.. but you lost to cap.

Would you have the same result if you replaced two of your Streakcats with fast moving anti-cappers or would that drop you below the required DPS? If this tactic works against people who are going to sucker punch you with a fast cap then it's a serious imbalance... as it is, well you lost twice to the same thing.

Tapping out is for men who cannot take the heat.

Going 6 and 0 with 2 cappers having heart attacks, yeah I don't feel like a loser sorry.

Why? In the context of those games that's exactly what you where... definitively. The team that did not win is the loser.

So would it work with only six or seven Streakcats?

Because we didn't lose.
They tapped out like Hulk Hogan, and we made very few attempts to go back to base, because that wasn't what we were going for. We were seeing if anything can beat the BAPcat.

Surprise, nothing can, unless they decide to not engage, and steal the base with 0 damage done.

Then again Alpine is literally the worst map I have ever played in a game ever so that's not saying much.

So what you are saying is Call of Duty 4 was your first vidja gaem.

Alpine is one of the best maps MWO has to offer.

River city (+ night), Frozen city, Caustic, And Forrest Colony are the worst maps in the whole Mechwarrior franchise.

Alpine, Tourmaline, and Canyon network are pretty much perfect MW maps, and could be retro fitted into any other MW game.

So what you're saying is nothing can beat the BAPcat... except anything with superior mobility.

Brilliant.

You're playing assault in all of the posted pictures correct? Assault win conditions are destroy all enemy battlemechs or capture the enemy base. You can also lose by having all of your battlemechs destroyed or having your base captured.

In any of the battle scenarios you've posted pictures of did you lose to either of the a-fore mentioned win conditions? If so, you lost. Thus, your argument "can it be beaten" would be answered with "yes, and it has."

We put our whole team on the base a few times, too.

Guess how that ended.

I'm going to assume you lost yet somehow declared yourselves the victors because the other team "didn't play right."

If you really want we can leave 1 mech at base like we did a few times and it ate the lights.

we have left 1 mech back, but that was never the point at all.

The point was to see how it faired in a stand up fight, it's a monster.

Not really, the A1s were being spotters and the streaks were the primary killer of everything.

Stop being mad.

Well, in the second game we had against them in canyons, our lights were able to mob a A1 which had separated from the herd. That's about as much as we (lights) could do as far as combat was concerned. So, out of curiosity, how would you guys propose to 'fix' streaks as to make them not as overpowering? I'm genuinely curious as to your ideas.

Alpine is one of the best maps MWO has to offer.

So the map with almost zero major landmarks, a couple of ridges in an otherwise empty space, and a MASSIVE elevation advantage granted to one team in every game combined with a game mode that promotes camping on both sides lest you move up for long range weapons fire and get capped out by lights that went all the way around (outside of weapon range and RENDER distance for even the highest-end computers) with ECM is one of the best maps MWO has to offer?
