1) Have you played both Atlas and Stalkers?
2) Which do you have better success in?
3) 30% more money is a good equalizer!

As for me I'd go for 4 LL + Gauss Atlas RS.
Mobility and moving hands are important to me, RS can carry 15 tonnes more and THE only advantage of Stalker platform is high mounted weapon hardpoints which is good for PPC sniping only.
But I don't think that you need a Misery for sniping.
I seriously don't see how misery is any good.

If you're looking for better surivability, you're looking at an Atlas. Stalkers are great mechs, and the Misery certainly isn't bad, but they are primarily built to provide direct-fire and missile support. They can put a LOT of damage on a target, but tend to not do well once focused, primarily due to their poor torso turning and easy-to-hit torso.
Atlases (Atlai?) do have more armor, and a harder to hit CT. They can also be equipped in a greater variety of ways and still be viable.
Still, remember, any assault caught in the open by itself will likely be torn apart. Play smart either way.
