ok' i went and got that outlaw case today along with a dvi to vga adapter, came to 50.70, now i have all for the build cept for the os. i plan on going home to get the parts i have stored there then going back to the computer recycleing center where im volenteering at and im keeping the case at overnight to start the build tomorrow. only problem now is that i only have like 54.55 to go towards windows 7 thats like 105 plus tax, might go with ubuntu or some other free linux os for now until i get the cash for windows 7, 1 benifit of linux is there is only like 42 or so virus for it compared to millions for windows so chance of infection is greatly reduced.

I started using this one to test it out as a second OS. So far, I love it.

Well you better spend your next bit of effort on building and assembly, there are lots of videos on youtube regarding assembly, and cable management.......spend the time on the case and make it hella nice before you are distracted by the OS and how snappy fast it is.Posted ImageThis Good,Posted Imagethis bad,

Yup, I build for aesthetics as much as I do for speed...I absolutely LOVE a clean build.

started build late today, was only able to get 45 minutes-1 hour at it, in that time I had the Motherboard mounted with standoffs at all mounting points, and I placed the FX-4100 in it along with the speaker that came with the case, plugged in the 1 included case fan and hooked up the power LED from the header panel. was in a rush to get there so forgot camera to take Pics. should have 4-4.5 hours or so to go at it and hopefully finish it tomorrow.

almost finished, got everything in and together, just need to do a test boot tomorrow and hopefully everything goes well, if it does then it's just cable management followed by OS installation (Ubuntu 13.04 for now till I can afford Windows 7), also need to get a cheap Wi-Fi Adapter, got a old wireless G USB adapter at home that wouldn't work on Windows 7, maybe it would work for me on Ubuntu? forgot camera here at home somewhere, that or it grew legs and walked away, so no pics of it again today. Sidenote: Wild Power Supply Cables appeared, So many cables not needed, a modular PSU would be so much easier for cable management due to just being able to remove unneeded cables as opposed to just having to tie them up and attempt to tuck them away like a normal PSU. also, found out just how bad SATA only can be as opposed to a Mix of SATA and IDE, at the place I'm volunteering and building my computer at, they have a bunch of DVD and CD Burners, of course of the 40-50 or so they have, only 3 are SATA and they are not even burners, only readers, Plus I have a older 320GB HDD I was going to use as a secondary/backup, possibly use it for a Boot Drive with Ubuntu, but it's IDE, not SATA so I can't use it (Maxtor MaXLine II) unless I get a IDE to SATA Adapter or put it in a enclosure and use it as a external HDD.

I believe you said that secondary was going to be a 5200RPM lappy top HDD, if so than an external enclosure wouldn't be a bad idea after all you could put almost any HDD in those and run @least USB3.0.....not entirely sure about IDE to SATA though, I never looked back after the switch to SATA..........And cable management can be a P.I.T.A. but I cant explain just how many benefits its brings to inside that case......

GOOD NEWS! IT WORKS!
Done test boot and had problems with no video, was scared that there was a problem with the video card, tried another video card that was here and that didn't work, but what the problem was is i only had main power hooked up to the mother board, i never hooked 2x 4 pin adapters to another part of the mother board, once that worked, it had video and the usb keyboard worked and the lights for network plug lit up, booted it up and goes into the BIOS good, currently getting a Ubuntu 13.04 Disc burned to put on there.

as for secondary HDD, I Will be useing my Laptop HDD, But i was planning on haveing a 3rd as extra for storage and to use as a backup HDD, but the one i was planning to use is a IDE Ultra ATA133 / ATA-7, the one from my laptop Should be a SATA Though.

Sidenote: i might see about doing a Windows 7 Enterprise 90 Day Trial thing also just to have Windows 7 for MWO and FSX and other windows games that would require some Wine Magic to work in Ubuntu.

Edit: This Edit Posted from Built computer running Ubuntu 13.04 useing Firefox Web Browser!

Good deal LL. Feel free to add me as friend, I'm not on much since I'm working on my thesis but when I am on I usually stick around for an hour or so.

So quick question, is it possible to duel boot somehow using 2 Hard drives? Ubuntu 13.04 would be on the First HDD and Windows 7 Enterprise 90 day trial would be on the second?

I know for certain you can....http://www.dedoimedo...s-7-ubuntu.html Its not a simple task.....be sure to try to get a good understanding first, before you start messing with OS and partitions.........reversing damages is much much more difficult than causing them.

New Question, Windows 8.1 Public Preview, or Windows 7 Enterprise 90 day Trial for MWO?

I'd go for Windows 8.1 since using the enterprise trial for a personal computer is a violation of your ToS.

in that case then, anyone here know how well MWO Works with 8.1? I know with Microsoft Flight simulator it would Crash to Desktop*, Granted 8.1 is still in Beta.

Finally got a email today from the person with the 2x Sapphire HD 7970 and they are already sold, no surprise there.

In other news, done stuff yesterday, was going to update you guys last night but internet was ****. I done a Dban of the HDD to get rid of Ubuntu followed by a install of Windows 8.1 Preview English 64 Bit (Just install, couldn't activate or check for drivers/updates due to internet giving out at the place I'm volunteering at), also went into Bios and changed CPU Clock multi to run at 4.2GHz (X22 I think it's set to), never changed anything else there. and tuesday I replaced the DVD-Rom drive to a Lightscribe DVD Burner and fixed header wires so the Power LED, HDD LED and Reset Switch Works now.

Edit: Edited from Windows 8.1 Preview using Google Chrome. Installed MWO, Just Patching now but won't have time to finish Patching.

MWO Installed! done a test on Alpine in testing grounds then done a test match on forest colony snow doing conquest, took my TBT-3C LRM Boat. with everything maxed on very high and Vsynch checked at 1024x768 in full window, was getting average FPS of around the 30-40 mark, would drop down into the 20's and up into the 50's and low 60's, I found it smooth and playable all around, even in a conquest match on frozen city with heat mode on was no performance difference.

Congratulations, feel free to add me and we can play if we're ever on at the same time.

Also, you're CPU bound at the moment so I recommend overclocking it as fast as it will go. You should be able to see 4.5 GHz at least on a 212+ cooler.
