Possibility Of A Base Defense Mode?

For a tactical game like this I think its more then appropriate and might give way to some clever strategies involving module use and perhaps a consumable that would make either task slightly more managable?
Its a very bear bones idea but I thought it could be something worth exploring.

Hmm sounds like an "assault" style game mode. Oh wait we have a game mode called that, but it is nothing like that.

Someone holding back and thinking dominating someone who just atempts to run and gun and where preplanning and team dynamic are essential. If the timer does run out the rest of the defenses come online and overwhelm the attackers. To make sure it doesn't turn into pure deathmatch this game mode should include dropship/lobby mode by default.
