Actually thats what OP was asking for right?

Nope, because D-DC can't fit more roles on the battlefield. Too slow for that.

There are at least 3 jack of all trades mechs.... just like there are at least 3 threads :).

My vote goes to Centurion CN-9D, Cataphract CTF-2X, Jagermech JM6-A and if you like slower mechs, Highlander.HGN-733C or any Atlas.
Light mechs don't go too well with ACs because of their weight. Except you want to use MGs.

I suggest the DRG-1N, JM6-A or the CTF-2X..... all these mechs have a good mix of speed, armor and maneuverability. They also can carry balanced weapon builds.

Victor or Orion when they come out will have a good mix of speed, all types of hardpoints, and armor.

Currently, though:
If you can live without missiles: Cataphract 3D or Catapult K2
If you can live without ballistics: Catapult C1
If you can live without speed: Atlas (avoid K), Stalkers (no ballistics though), Highlanders
If you can live without armor and pure firepower: Cent-AL, Cent-9D, Hunch-P, Hunch-SP, Blackjack-1X

If I had to throw one out its the Cent-A. Can do a lrm heavy build, carry a heavy ballistic (minus ac20) with limited lasers.

if you want a medium the Treb 7K with 1Gauss, 2SSRM2 and 2 Med Lasers fits that role quite good. It's fast with 90kph too.
JM6-A is a good one too, or the 2X.

Ctf-2x or Drg-1c/Flame. Good, balanced variants that are not a ddc. For me its definetly the Flame.

Best all-arounder? I'd say AWS-9M. Doesn't do "best" at anything, but it does almost everything fairly well. Aside from LRMs...

K2 Catapult. Can mount a variety of powerful ballistic or Energy weapons (Mine mounts 4 er ppc currently) is fast especially when mastered and has enough armor to survive a snub fight with an assault if used properly.

I can move as fast as most mediums with armor and punch with options for multiple combat ranges and playstyles.

Honestly I think the YLW is probably one of the most versatile.

Can mount an AC20 and 2ML in a medium mech that with an XL300 and boost goes 109 kph. If only it flew...

Look into Dragons and Centurions. They're pretty much mid-way weight-wise, and carry every type of weapon.

The Phract 2x is a good all-around mech right out of the box and plays the support role well, the YLW is another mech that packs some punch and is rugged as are all Cents.

I think mediums and heavies make better jack of all trade mechs due to armor, firepower and speed. Just my opinion however.
