The Artemis is pretty cool, dont get me wrong, but I really like the dual-stick configuration on Hawken's new controller, that, plus it has more buttons and bells and whistles, i dont really see the tactical advantage of having a giant screen in your face when you can get the same information on your gaming screen. Only downside to the hawken controller in my opinion, is that it is apparently being manufactured by some Chinese company I have never heard about, so whether or not they can make reliable equipment has yet to be determined.

I don't think there's any way to yet know if a prototype controller will work with a beta videogame.

I have to agree with what Gendou said. However, any company making a Windows PC game controller these days that isn't seen by the OS as a Direct X device needs to have their heads examined. At the minimum, I would expect the Hawken's joysticks and stick buttons to be functional with other games. Any LED / LCD text displays could be a different matter (ie. requiring special drivers).

Time will tell.

That hawken controller is waaaay sexier than the MWO prototype, they need to take some ques from that bad boy.

It takes me back to my Virtual On days.

I too like the Hawken joysticks setup better. If the one made for Hawken can be programmed to send keystrokes for buttons and the joysticks work like regular Windows joysticks, then it should be fine.

However, the "call sign" area and that LCD old-school display might be more proprietary.

Being left-handed the Hawken is the only choice for me. I aim better with my left hand, so that is where I would want that control.
(1 in 10 is left handed... just saying)

The hawken controller completely wrecks the artemis; I too am left handed and I had zero intention of getting the artemis on release, however the hawken controller looks fantastic and if it isn't complete trash I will have one within a month or two of release.

Don't like the dual joystick thing much but i will give kudos to the hawken controller for having a big red button
The razer controller i feel sceptical about since it looks more flashy than it looks useful and my previous experiences with razer controllers made me sick just by looking at it.
COMBINING the two though, now that'd be something

And all that without teasing people with pictures for a week, and hey, it might actually be useful.
Still, I'm not getting either.
I might have a need for a new Joystick, but that's all I'll spend.

Imply Razr is known for high quality products. I'd much rather have a controller from an unknown source than Razr. I hope Razr pulls their crap, and price point together.

To be fair, it looks like it could be modular, allowing you to switch. I can't say for sure whether it is or not, though.

The problem with that is the Razer joystick is meant for the right hand. It has contours for the right hand and button(s) for the right hand's thumb. The Hawken has a joystick for each hand. I don't like the single joystick layout, because I'd prefer to have one for moving and one for targeting.

You're either going to have to hold up the joystick to continue moving over long distances, or you're using a joystick to increment/decrement throttle. The latter will be more sluggish than a hand throttle (or keyboard) that can go 0-100%, so you might be at a disadvantage If you want to pilot light/medium mechs. Sucks for lefties out there.

Sorry MWO, i will probably place my money on hawken controller.
Although, i will also place my money in MWO :(

That controller is just... sweet, there is no other word for it.

Any solid info on release date/price?

There were some murmurs on price settling around 250usd but some solid info would be appreciated =)
