Dear Valdemart 47,

Even if you never check the boards, nice spider piloting, guy. You didn't get that last stalker, but that's only because you were too busy absolutely crushing the enemy cataphract and jagermech all by yourself and the timer ran out.

2 kills, 5 assists, 832 damage. 10/10 would play with again.

Anyways, I'm not sure if there already is a thread of this nature. I figured that some players deserve some recognition for being outstanding whether it be by behavior or piloting skill. And if you've the itch to throw out some awareness, have at you, fellow pilots! Share your stories, because we could all use some good ones for a change.

Had a fun game with The Scotsman.

He and I were only the only two mechs left facing two heavies and a highlander. The catapult had a heavily damaged rear end and kept his back hidden pretty well, while the cataphract and the highlander were pretty well off with generally yellow armor on everything. The highlander ran to cap our base for some reason, then Scots and I plinked away both of the two defending heavies thanks to his fancy footwork in his spider drawing their fire.

I don't recall it being an ECM spider either.

Capped the base for a win after murdering the two heavies! Thanks Based Scotsman.

I'll keep my eyes peeled. I see lots, but often forget to take note afterwards.

Pilot: Salicar

Me and Mister Neapolitan dropped into Canyon assault. Without really planing it, Alpha and Bravo lance split, With Alpha (us) going left, and bravo going right. Although We didn't plan on going for the cap, we ended up getting all the way across the map without contact, so we all jumped on the enemy base, in the hopes of drawing some opponents back to us, and make life easier for bravo lance. No one came back, and although I have no problems with winning by cap, we all decided to step off and duke it out. Bravo had just taken a kill anyways, so We figured we had this one.

We got out to the main fight, took a few kills ourselves, but found out the tide had turned on us. The opposing team had regrouped something fierce, and was coming down on us like an anvil. Me and Neo decided to head back to cap (We were driving quickdraws with big engines). We announced our plan over the team chat line, half expecting our teammates to object. Instead, Salicar responds with "Go I will cover".

He stayed behind, odds against Him, in his jager-DD, in the canyon, totally Gandolf-style, and made sure we could get back to the enemy base, capping for the win.

He survived, too.

Errant Variable is probably the best spotter I've ever seen in any of the various versions of the MechWarrior video games.

I generally run in a Stalker 3H LRM truck. With Errant Variable spotting we ran all 8 enemy 'Mechs right off of the field of battle. At the end of that match, I had 6 kills, 2 assists. He had 2 Kills, 6 assists and we were both WAY out past 500 damage.

Give me a spotter of Errant Variable's caliber and 3 LRM trucks and I'm comfy going up against anyone.

Lashropa: Took command in a pub game and ochestrated a pincer movement which lead to a concise victory for our team.
Pastor of Muppets: Listened to the complaints of our LRM boats and went on a wide flank with me (Both victors on Canyon) while providing critical information to the team. Completely shattered their formation seeing two victors appearing in their rear.

There are many pilots I would rather see on my side of the drop than against me. Badur, Thontor, St. Jobe, Bilbo, Helmer plus my fellow House Jurai members.

I wish I had screencapped it. Yesterday I had the pleasure of winning an absolutely flawless Conquest match (ended around 5:30 EST on Caustic). All five bases captured, won on kills 8-0. Strategy was also incredibly sound - we captured Kappa and Epsilon simultaneously while the enemy team went straight for Theta for some reason, where we engaged and wiped them out. And these guys were all PUGs as far as I knew.

I can't really say any particular people. Anyone that leaves up MWO videos (especially the amusing ones) makes me happy for those times when I play a game other than MWO, or just unable to play MWO for some reason.

Anyone that is willing to do something fun off the beaten path to have fun also has my vote for being awesome too.
Example:
Believing that the enemy team would outcap me (apparently they didn't because it was a pug they werent smart enough to split up and/or too slow), I declared to do a 1v1 against some hunchback who was using an XL engine and fought him in my DRG-1N. Almost got him, but he survived, one more shot (literally) he would have died though. It was a fun match. I forgot his name though. Funnily enough, not a single other enemy came (most of their team was alive I missed the battle cause I was capping because I was the fastest unit), as if they thought I was lying. B)

Also, anyone that does well with a mech that most people consider to be bad. Specificly Commando, even more specificly, stock commandos. Or just anyone that goes up against mechs that have mechs that have min/maxed to be the most effective and coming out of it relatively unharmed all the while using some inferior design.

Anyone willing to take command of a PUG group, because I'm too lazy to command, and I'm always curious to see how different commanders command the team.

I'll start keeping a list of awesomely awesome people for the future though.

I appreciate all pilots who try to give advice to apparent newcomers, and especially to all newcomers that listen to said advice.
Too bad I don't have good memory for names, but there has been several pilots whose individual skill has impressed me.

Hello,

Nice recognition thread for the spider pilot. Let me ask you...
What was his build?

Tolen (I know I'm missing a letter), for showing that PPCs are not out of style.

Was piloting a Catapult K2 with extreme skills, with 2 PPCs and a small laser. Was doing great the whole match, till a Jenner found him at the end. But revenge was close at hand.

Wish I could recall your name right...

I'd like to ad EvAbsense and JamesBlake to the list. For their friendship, advice and above all PATIENCE with me and my regular team...

ALSO Please will all Mechwarriors remember madmac451 in your prayers/meditations as well as he is in Hospital right now after a bad accident. He runs the C3 channel dropship451 where I and some others have had many a good hour chatting, learning and dropping with him and his other buds.

I Approve of this Thread! ;)

Daisu Saikoro : For being one hell of a warrior and team leader. An excellent mate, i really miss. MIA atm.

Karpundir: Fearsome warrior, an excellent mate and team leader :P I have enjoyed every single drop i had with him and his merry band of mechwarriors

Teh Rav3n : One of the best brawlers i run with, also MIA :( I would pilot in his wing ANY Day! Used to take heavy brawlers him and 2 lancemates and he would go like this :
"Lets just charge the middle, form up"....and boom mechs starting falling left and right

Kaffeangst : One of the best snipers i have run up against. I have yet to kill him even once

These are just a few that came to mind right now...
I'll be checking in some more in the future,

<S>

Pilot: Mortimer Rouge
I don't meet many people like Mortimer in Mechwarrior. He was always so nice and a moral support to both teams, And for That I thank him. You don't need to be a badass pilot piloting a badass mech to be awesome. <--(Tehee)
