tl:dr - (nutshell) Premades can render the game un-fun for others, and the state of communication in Pug games is too slow to give even a remote chance of countering a well organized premade.

I understand that this is a team based game, and that it is currently in Beta, but this is just ridiculous. Now I can't argue the effectiveness of such a tactic, or the possible fun. I have to be honest with myself and submit to the idea that I would most likely have enjoyed myself if I was on the other side of the fence, but I'd also have to be aware of how unbalanced and unfair this is.

This isn't as much a rant, or tantrum as it is a question of balance and concern for the current state of the game. Take for a moment the inability for our group to coordinate our efforts due to a lack of immediate communication options aside from third party software or services, which would of course require people to submit to the same unbalanced tactic. I Pug 99% of the games that I play. I've only played a handful of games with members found via the popular Teamspeak server advertised on these forums. It works, but it does take some time to find a group willing to knowingly take on a newer player. I've tried and I usually hear talk of things such as 'ELO' and whatnot. As a new player I had to look up what ELO was and why it was a concern, and of course once I understood what it was I couldn't argue.

I have to agree with alot of posters that due to the current state of the game premade groups should only be matched with other premades until there is a better form of in-game communication or the ability to choose your Mech while the game start is pending. Thats just me, but I find this sort of issue gamebreaking as it makes it un-fun and not playable at times.

If these "tears" of mine are so unjust then what would either of you recommend as recourse? If someone as new as myself can see this level of unbalance enough to determine that things of this nature aren't fun, you have to wonder how many other players are being turned off of this game due to the current mechanics.

By all means, assume I am whining and ******** over a loss. If that is what helps you justify the current state of the game that is your prerogative, but we all have to agree that PGI is out to make money, and they can't if they are only making it difficult to attract newer players by allowing systems such as this to remain as they are.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy this game for the most part, and I want to throw my money at it, but it seems that for every one reason I find to spend money, I see 2 more reasons not to.

I just want to enjoy the game. If you think this is a fair mechanic than by all means, defend it, but don't belittle my character because you are glued to a system which will undoubtedly change.

That ship has sailed. Most of the premades pussed out on the real competition. They'd rather engage in easymode stomps against pugs in 4mans than face real competition in the 8-man queue.

How do you know its a premade? No one on either team played really well, you just played worse than they did.

I am sure I haven't played a fraction of the games you have, but I haven't run into too many encounters resulting in a random group of 6 Jenners. It became fairly obvious that it was a premade. Most of the Mechs were using matching colors and camo patterns. The Jenners focused on one target at a time working in near perfect concert.

This had little to do with skill. I know I am a new player and not as good as a great deal of players, but its kind of hard to use any level of skill sufficient enough to counter something such as this. As soon as I saw someone mention 5 lights I stuck to our assault like glue. The Jenners ran up on him and in one pass he was gone. On their return pass I was gone. I seriously doubt something like that could be orchestrated at random, let alone the client allowing 6 out of the 8 possible slots to be lights.

I came into this game on the second wave of closed beta. I agree this game is broken in all kinds of ways. But, match making is not as bad as all the really, really, really broken things about this game. My game freezes in the middle of matches all the time. That's a brand new feature form the latest patch..thank you PGI.

So, MM to me is small potatoes. And for the record I get my a$$ handed to me all the time in 4, 8, & PUG's. It's just there are a lot of really good players out there that build strong running mechs.

Actually, I think what he's trying to do (not very well, IMO) is suggest that this game actually get some real voice comms. I think it's about time, honestly.

Why yes the forum needed another PuG tearfest about 4 mans thread! There were not nearly enough of them already!

Yes, that was probably a premade.
You probably also had a premade on your own team.
I can assure you that the frequency of encountering enemy premades jumps significantly when I myself am in a premade.

They managed to beat the OP therefore they must have been a pre-made.

I somehow imagined communication was necessary for teamwork. I must have missed the part of the tutorial that teaches telepathy.

Remember that the next time your check engine light comes on. If its broken, and you have a warning, its generally good practice to fix whatever is wrong. Ignoring the warnings can come at a cost.

Thank you for not reading the subsequent posts prior to your reply. I lose alot of games and I dont whine about them. I am highly accustomed to losing. If you practiced any small modicum of reading comprehension you would have noticed my modest admission of the lack of skill I have. I make no claim that I am by any means a great player. I have posted a few topics making this known in the suit of better understanding the game.

I find it ironic that when asked for help or suggestions the community seems rather forward and willing to help or assist, but when someone points out a seemingly unbalanced (and obviously much scrutinized en mass) issue, people are quick to point fingers and resort to the anonymity the internet affords.

If people find issue with my questioning the current game mechanics, than by all means, I am open to suggestion - Correct me, or provide a resource that makes my 'fanboi' rant unjust or easily corrected.

This is not a balance issue.

This is "The big boys are working together! It's not fair!!1!".

This is complaining about teamwork in a team-based game with objectives instead of just TDM. Of *course* teamwork is an advantage.

There is no indicator of a pre-made in MWO, it's 100% based on guesswork. You assume they are grouped, nothing more.

Ignore the ones who see nothing wrong with this. They are all grandparents and cant have fun unless they lolerstomp. Kinda like the people screaming they are anti socialist while collecting social security and medicare while using public roads and schools.

They don't want to talk about it, but it's a serious issue. Nowadays, you usually get one of your own if the enemy has one, but that's also bound to the pubbie lottery.

If you don't like gambling, never, ever drop alone. They used to make big threads about how they wanted to leave the ghetto for the pure, competitive, superior 8 man drops that we were getting, but that whole thing crashed and burned, because 99% of the elite guilds aren't elite, or even good, and got rekd repeatedly by those who are.

When the entirety of your argument is ignoring anyone who disagrees with you and insulting them then I'm afraid you have already lost.
