This is what happens when you shoot a mech (especially a heavier mech) in the back:

Even if you are an assault and you super duper instant-self-shutdown alpha strike an enemy in the back after managing to trudge your way into a flanking position, that is all that is going to happen (unless your enemy is CONSIDERABLY lighter than you.)

Note, I'm not arguing that the module isn't good, but simply pointing out that those who are saying that the module is somehow the end of flanking are... well... wrong.

i sure miss having to actually "Watch the tunnel because now i can just pick up blips. more counters would be great, and some range reductions based on the enemy mechs wieght.

it's the opening from mechcommander i believe. Madcat gets flanked and shot in the back, and just shrugs it off. Raven then runs it into a trap

Seph the point isn't that it invalidates it but it means the lil raven will be in front of the madcat in any pug. 400m is just too much reaction time when terrain comes into play with los (ie light will only get close enough on open ground)

Edit: I'm taking great delight in exploiting it atm as well as showing more than my fair share of jenners and ravens the finer points at the wrong end of an lb-x

The wrong end of an LBX is the end of the one carrying it.

Oh yeah, and not to mention the number of times it's saved my butt from walking into a blob of mechs and finding a flanking path instead.... ;)

Seismic is the best module out there, period. It may not stop bullets, but it'll sure as hell tell you when not to Rambo through a defile.

Right, because everyone happily eats a 6 medlas alpha from Jenners to the back and just shrugs it off.

Seismic is basically wallhack PGI edition. Let's not mince words. Its going to get nerfed, and people who don't have it are losing out so badly its not even funny.

It's an ac/40 and a1 counter. the weight class ranges separated (into top bottom/half at least) and overall range reduced idea to balance it sounds good imo.

Seismic sensor makes a huge difference and is hands down the best module. It provides pretty large benefits to the person flanking and the person getting flanked. Knowing how many enemies could be around a corner when flanking is a pretty valuable asset and knowing if an enemy is trying to flank is equally as good. Good flanking relies on your team providing suppressive fire to distract the enemy not just stealth.

Now they just need to change the machine gun sound to that of the Pulse Rifle in the Aliens movie so it feels like we're hunting Aliens.

I am loving the siesmic so far, very useful around big rocks and small mountains & canyon's.

'Mech weight and speed (how hard its feet are hitting the ground) should affect the range that the seismic sensor picks them up, not just the size of the blips.

Well the point is, because of seismic sensors you aren't even able to get in someones back without beeing seen on the minimap, so in many cases they engage you before you even could shoot them in the back, that's the problem!

There were so many tactical sneaking manouvers that aren't simply possible anymore because of seismic sensors... this module is way to good as it is at the moment.
