Speculate: If it isn't P2W, what is in the store?

Not in the Store (my guess); Modules (these buff abilities and must be earned)

In the Store (my Guess);

New Mechs (most likely not cross-tech, IS or Clan origin)
Weapons
Equipment
Skins and Other
Mech Bays

Selling the Skill Modules would be the same as P2W. The rest of the items have minimal effect on gameplay, at best they offer alternate loadouts, like an Awesome vs a Zeus.

"Premium Mechs" like the founders batch that offer the CBill boost.

or the ability to turn any mech you have into "Premium"

New Chassis - so you don't have to "Unlock" them though combat.

And come March of 2013....

Clan Mechs -
i can see a real cash roll coming from Clan mechs. But how do you not make it Play to win. You make them purchasable in game as well but only after you unlock them. Say you have to contribute to the kill of 250 Mad Cats (Not Kill Shot) before it the Mad Cat chassis is unlocked for you to buy.

Clan Faction access.
Want to play all the clan mechs without having to unlock them all, or purchase them individually - Join the Clan faction...for a price.

This would be pretty awesome, but, depending on how stuff is balanced, it might not be in PGI's own best interest to offer it. If a one-time payment can confer premium status on your favorite 'Mech, you may not have much incentive to keep paying your monthly for a premium account.

If you instead balance your premium 'Mechs so they're just slightly under par compared to regular ones (as WoT generally does, especially with the higher-tier tanks), then while people are likely to buy them for the C-Bill boost they may still want to pay for a premium account so they can stay profitable when playing 'Mechs that they enjoy more.

I believe that there will be top hats available for the Atlas and Commando and a pair of giant binoculars for the Stalker.
The ability to play music through the mechs speakers in battle would be pretty cool as well.

This.

But didn't the devs say they were trying to make all the weapons balanced? From that viewpoint, the only difference is what equipment you have in regards to your playstyle. And of the 'mechs avaliable, each role has at least one with a suitable default loadout. It might not be your dream machine, but it should do what you need, at least until you can afford to fix it. So the way I see it, the cash bonus doesn't give anyone early access to BETTER weapons, just earlier access to a larger variety of weapons.

Personally, I'd like to see the ability to put together custom paint schemes, or access to a greatly broadened selection of skins, and some silly items to go with all that.

As long as the "Premium" mechs arent just stupidly better then the "normal" mechs i am really fine (I dotn care if they earn 50% or what it was) more. My only concern is we dont get a WoT style Type 59 bullshit

they could make money by putting MLP decels for your mech in the store

I'm not interested in them, but I bet there are people that would buy them

Hrm... custom paint jobs you can't pull off otherwise, perhaps some advanced components (like an upgraded ECM Suite?)...

A Real Cash to Game Cash converter (as it were).

Hm... I know! A triple-barrel Long Tom Autocannon so you can play the one-'Mech artillery battery!

Or access to orbital weapons systems!

Nothing says "You die now!" like a couple Heavy Gauss slugs fired from on high at a fraction of light speed.

There will be absolutely no P2W, the devs have stressed that point on and on and on. You can buy a whole hangar of mechs, but if you don't have the skill to drive (both player skill and in-game skill) them you will be pointed at by people while they laugh, make funny noises and references about your aunt or uncle.

Artfully strewn about used takeaway poutine containers around the dash and perhaps obscuring a display?

Mmmmmm. Poutine.

I'd settle for a Wolfs Dragoons colour scheme and quicker access to weapons such as ER-PPC's. I suspect that the secret here is that you get $80 or what ever of in-game credits but they are no more valuable than the C-Bills in game, it just gives you say a 20-25 hour head start on any other player.

From what I understand it was S80 of "ingame cash". If I were to give the devs $80 of cash ( substantially more than I would normally pay for a game) I'm expecting a significant amount of c-bills. Certainly more than a 20-25 hour headstart.

EDIT-- Just realized you are probably referring to 20-25 hours of "ingame" time, not clock time in real life (ie. one day). That would be more like it.

You got it :(

P.S. it was just a finger in the air kinda figure anyway I'm not sure what the ratio is but if I can't afford a couple of paint jobs and a new 'mech after 24 hours of play without sleep than I'd be a little worried! :D
