Well if anyone has had experience in the Jenner might now, that it really is a 2 horse race between the D and the F. It comes down to what exactly you want from the mech, and what you can do with it. If you aren't confident enough that you can trade in your jenner with other lights, run the D so as to use the streaks which will aid in CT hits and generally win the trade. If you want a higher alpha though, and to use guerilla hit and run tactics into the enemy, my recommendation would be the F with 6 lasers, the punch is high, and you can core an atlas fairly easy from behind without him getting you if you know what to do. The main thing that a light has on its side though is speed, once your stopped, you are just like any other mech, except half the armour.
I prefer the F, although it can run hot, generally with left arm on mouse 1 and right arm on mouse 2, where firing just 1 side is stable on heat. My friend enjoys the D more, being able to trade with any light, but then again, the X-5 does the same while only being slightly slower yet far more armoured.
Finally, I would relax upon your focus on module slots, they are useful, yes. However they are not a necessary part of any mech, and tactical skill is a far greater ally than any module. On my F I only have adv. sensor range yet have a kd ratio of over 2 currently. The Jenner mech fits my playstyle perfectly.
