Are Players Ready For Clan Weapons?

It would work as the system currently in place for determining savior kills etc..
If a Clan pilot kills an IS opponent within a pre-ordained time period (20, 30s?) without any other Clan ally dealing any appreciable damage (less than 2) within that time, whilst the opponent still had all of its limbs and weapons intact (not necessarily undamaged, but not armour-less) then the Clan player would get a sizable XP and Honour bonus.
This honour could also be accrued through accuracy, number of kills, survival (dying could even negate everything you had gained throughout the match?) and even perhaps through a Dueling Issue system, allowing Clan pilots to Issue a Duel ( duh ) to enemy pilots.
This would be a pretty steep set of rules to play by, and would drastically cut down on players who would like to just play with prettier tech.

zelbriggen against most IS units would last about 30 seconds. The instant two IS units fire on a clan mech, all rules are out the window. Though I like the idea of what you outlined. It rewards skill vs IS mob tactics. I would find a system like that a great way to measure ones self and grow in skill

Even if they do it 5v8 or something it just wont be fun. It makes sense to do that in TT but not in a game with real people. Also, I wont play a game when all my mechs up till then become useless.

I guess that's why absolutely noone plays pure-tech anymore.
And don't forget, MW:LL uses Civil War era IS machinery with all the things that come with it. MW:O has to use pre Clan Wars equipment.

ESPECIALLY considering all the BoomJagers, Splatcats and other pain-in-the-*** cheesebuilds floating around atm.
(i would like to think that given it is state in the lore at some point that even most clanners consider a double UAC20 to be "cheese"/Dishonourable, we wont see as much clan cheese)

Another often "forgotten" factor... not all of the clanners, I dare say possibly only a small portion of them, will be min-max-cheezbuilders, and they will not be looked on favorably by those of us that are Claners out of conviction and have been for a long time, which is a surprisingly large number of us from what I gather. Friendly fire may become more common quickly....
Also , outright boating a là 6PPC Stalker is not even really possible in most omnis, becasue you have weapons and engines hardwired to the chassis in addition to the configurable omni loadout, wheras IS pilots can (assuming the same TT rules that are used to justify every possible Clan nerf under the sun) switch out very literally everything but the actuators and cockpit. Clanners can`t even adjust armor values, much less decide that they want to build say an übercheeze LRM 120 boat by running a 200xl engine. For example, a Dire wolf has 50.5 tons of pod space. THAT would allow for 6 PPCs, yes. But barely one heatsink each. Which would mean that the mech cannot realistically fire more than 2 without overheating, which means it mas as well be a Cat C-1. Just slow as an atlas and w/o jumpjets, but with more armor than a C-1.
Use of intelligence is always implied when designing a mech loadout, being stupid just isn`t getting punushed hard enough... yet

However...I do not think the game balance is ready for it yet.

Aff.
Though I`m not ewven so sure that game balance is as much of an issue as the community as a whole not even really being ready for rational discussion of it, much less seeing it ingame...
