Rocket Launchers from Field Manual: Periphery being retconned early into this game, now THAT would be worth it.

Excepting rocket launchers, who in their right mind would be stupid enough to pay that much for a single salvo?

Two words, ammo explosions. Ammo cook-offs are the second most leading cause of mechwarrior fatalities; stupidity being first. So yes, one-shot launchers have a place in tabletop battletech and mechwarrior as well.

Rocket Launchers are interesting, but I'm not sure they aren't horribly broken.

Well, they were horribly broken in MW4:Mercs. You could put a RL in a Cougar, it weights damn 1.5 tons, and own everymech in the match. HRL's are just too damn overpowered, unless you notice that 5 shots with 20 heatsinks already make you shut down.

And if I'm that scared of ammo explosions, I'll just add case or use energy weapons. That's a terrible reason.

Usually only the Periphery states use them, but they are awesome in solo TT games because you don't have to worry about ammo carrying over into the next match or reloading.
Very little heat. Short range fire power.
You can have light mechs dishing out 50 damage in a single round with very little effort.
MRM's or Medium Range Missles aren't one shot launchers, but for the small price, they can pack a hefty punch. The downside is they are unguided missiles, so a tad harder to hit with. Essentually a spray and pray weapon that can level an opponent.
