When I see the notification of when someone gets killed, I always have to check the player list to see whose team that player was on(I've even been killed while checking). It would be nice if the name of the person that was killed was color coded so that we knew if they were friend or foe. Usually I see a massive wall of text of someone who killed someone and then a bunch of disconnects in the mix too. To me, it just seems like a better way to keep track of how the battle is going.

Btw, sorry if I worded the poll oddly.

I have no idea how this isn't a good idea or what it wasn't already implemented, although the colors of text on the sky background already leaves something to be desired... but, yes, it should be immediately apparent from the kill notice if it was a friendly or an enemy. That would help new players in particular who probably have no idea what those mysterious numbers at the top of the screen are in Assault and who don't know about hitting Tab... and I shouldn't have to hit Tab to know that a team mate just died.

sometimes you can tell by just looking at the score at the top, but in the heat of battle you want to know quickly which team lost a mech, and if you weren't paying attention, then you'd have to hit tab, which is not good if your currently engaged with another mech. Yes, I think we should color coat them to know which team "lost the mech/got the kill."

This is true, except when playing conquest it means I have to pull up the menu and hope I remember who was dead already. It's incredibly unintuitive and slow for something I should have immediate access to.

This is one of those things that's so obvious it surprises me it isn't in the game already. Most shooters show kills in a format like "[colored name] killed [color name] with [little icon that indicates weapon type or something like headshot]."

A million times yes. On a related note, how about a counter telling us how many 'mechs are still alive/connected/active(some input in last 30s) without having to go to the Tab screen? The Assault mode numbers are often misleading, and Conquest lacks them entirely.

has been mentioned several times and i have agreed every time.

this should be a fairly simple change that would add more to the teamplay dynamic.
