Bought the TDK a few days ago. Only played one game with it so far.... And it was quite enjoyable. I had 175 damage that round with 3 kills and a fair few assists. I figured that it will probably die a lot, so I did the following build. Let me know if you would consider it good or not. I run the TDK as a zombie.

DEATH'S KNELL

I will probably grind this up as soon as I am done with my dragonslayer

I just now noticed this thread, but here is what I posted about it.

Guys I own one, is fun to play but pretty much vulnerable... There is nothing you can do against a Jenner D or a Raven 3L. As long as you stay with the main group you will be safe but you can't go solo 1 on 1 against streaks.

I ran it with a STD 190 for long time. Recently been trying on the XL 240 for that speed.

Most fun mech in my view...going 171kph zipping around the legs of 5 assault mechs all trying to blast you, stick in the background until the main fight starts then no one bothers with you.
Just lots of fun and it is just what I needed in MWO at the moment.

Why I like the TDK is simple it has the maximum possible speed, firepower of an AC20 and enough maneuverability to pinpoint fire at max speed and fire backwards. I can usually do 500+ damage and be in the top 4 match scores each game.

This is what I use http://mwo.smurfy-ne...28a832f56e3af9b

Agree completely with stjobe and his build here (well, my DHS are in the arms for crit padding). Drop a HS, get the FF* and max your armor and engine. Plenty cool, split the lasers 2&2 and just use one pair for heat management sometimes if you need to.

*FF actually gets you the last 2 points of armor, IIRC, so you can skip that if you want

Very good advice; I have left arm lasers on left mouse button and right arm lasers on right mouse button. Works a charm, and if I want to fire all four I just press both buttons.

PREEcisely how I do it. Sometimes only one side around a corner, too, though that's rare on TDK. Much more common on my big mechs.

I just bought a DK last night.

Note to self: Do not mix Chivas Regal with MWO.

I've given myself that same advice about MWO and Buffalo Trace. Not as catchy as "don't drink and Diablo," but even more true, at least for me.

Actually i use the XL 235 because its the max blackjack engine and the lack of head armor is because in almost 600 games w/o any ive been headshotted twice.

The HS in the arms may be a good idea, but you lose the arms pretty quickly after going down to internals.

But if I lose my guns, I really don't need my HS any more. If the HS ever soaks a crit and keeps the lasers around, I come out ahead. We're talking very fine hairs, here, of course.

Yeah i retract my previous statement, recently got a new faster engine and the mech plays totally different now. Alota fun taking down a Atlai, and watching them struggle as you skin his back.

Welcome back the fold. ;)

The recent up-tick of Commando talk has me running my 2D tonight...

Okay, I'm about half way through the basics on the DK. It clearly isn't a Raven or Jenner, but it's actually a pretty fun little ride. I'm a terrible light pilot, but I feel comfortable going 1v1 with Spiders and especially Locusts. Poor Locusts. LOL!

Enjoyed seeing you in-game last night, knellin' it up. I played my Thud with a thud that game... <rolleyes>

Speed Tweak makes it even more fun. Really.
