Hey guys,

First off, I just wanted to say thank you SO much for your hard work and dedication. It means a lot to all of us MW/BT fans.

Secondly, I have a suggestion, and I'm not sure it's really been proposed/talked about in real earnest yet, so I'm just going to throw this out there. I think each mech should be Faction specific, such that, you can only easily (i.e. cheaply) get certain mechs if you belong to the corresponding faction. This would be truer to the universe, and also, would throw a new element into the game-play. For all the mercenary groups out there, I would suggest ALL mech designs being available, but at a greatly increased cost... perhaps even do equipment and weapons in the same manner. After all, in the Battletech universe, Narc Beacons weren't that common in the FedCom, but were all the rage in the Capellan Commonwealth, where they tended to use primarily scout and support mechs.

But however/whatever you guys decide to do, I'm sure this will be a GREAT game, and I'm really looking forward to playing it when it is released! Thanks again!

I think this would be too limiting. In a game about piloting lots of giant mechs, I want to be able to pilot lots of giant mechs, not just a few.

Perhaps keep every mech available to every faction but have something like a signature mech for every faction thats available at a reduced cost.

Im not sure, but I think they said thats how it will be, kind of. There wont be any restrictions on what mechs factions can buy, but certain factions can get certain mechs for a lot cheaper.

they did say some where that some mechs would cost more to some factions and others less , Mercs will be something else again.

so there will be some difference from faction to faction.

Plus only having 12 mechs at the time wouldn't be a very good idea right now to limit usage of mechs. Reduced cost on faction mechs is a great idea since Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries had added bonuses for joining certain factions and some mech discounts.

as much as i genarelly like staying true to the lore... but making Mechs faction specific automatically forces unbalance to the factions... let´s just take an example that might be a little "overdone": If an Atlas was Steiner only, you´d simply have all ppl that want an Atlas at one faction...

it´s better to have them all accessable to everyone... different prices okay, but no limitations...
