Commandos, definitely. Mastering my 3 Commandos was just a painful experience.

Spiders are similarly cringe-worthy. I love piloting Spiders, but anything with streaks just eats them for breakfast.

Here's a quick list in the order of disappoint:

1) Spider-5K - Your existence is to be non-existent most of the time.

2) LRM D-DCs - Just because you have ECM, it doesn't suddenly make you a good missile boat.

3) Fang - You wasted MC on the wrong Dragon.

usually i'm too busy trying not to be a detriment to the team myself in my medium that i don;t really notice how good/bad the other guys are doing to really hate seeing a particular mech on my team.

however- does all heavy/assaults and me the lone medium (no lights mind you) on pretty much any conquest map count?

i usually announce "i guess i'm pretending to be a light wannabe for this match" when the match starts. shockingly we don't tend to do too well- either we kill everything except the lights no one can catch and they win or the superior lightness of their side caps everything in about a minute and a half and we get wrecked on points.

edit- oh wait i suppose lrm atlases. i say "ok atlas to follow to the fight". atlas moves 100m from the base and starts lrming. <goes off to try and find an assault on the actual battleline>

As an 80% spider pilot, I hate seeing other spiders on my team. They usually either try to brawl, or go straight to capping while I'm busy doing recon and tagging. Blech. Recently consistently getting 2 kills/match with my 5d. LOTS of time spent in training grounds practicing cockpit shot drivebys at 151kph.

People still think that? Wow that was like eons ago. Raven 3L is fun but you gotta put in your time to get good enough to run them.
I just started picking up the Ravens a couple of weeks ago and am working on my 3L master. Had a fantastic match this morning where I was the last on my team vs 3 enemies (stalker, streak-cat, ppc-cat), all fairly heavily damaged. I had a bum leg, but kept sneaking up on them from behind as they crawled towards my base to cap (we had outcapped them up until then). Managed to take out the 2 cats and was closing in on the Stalker (which they'd left to defend their base) when time ran out. Got the win, but sadly I missed taking a screenshot.

The fun in playing a low-damage, high-stealth unit makes your hands shake. Move fast, don't get seen, see them first, come at them from behind. It's a blast.

Hunchbacks are rare enough that I leap off my Unicorn, shove Bigfoot aside, and ignore the landing UFO just to get a good look at them.

Is that a joke? I probably see 2-4 HBKs per game. Probably one of the more common mechs out there.

I cringe whenever I see Streak Commandos or Ravens. I love light mechs but I despise those piloting such cookie cutter broken builds. I love legging them and telling the team their location. There is no better definition of justice or righteousness than seeing eight mechs surrounding those festering scrap-piles and having an alpha party. Whew...that said...

I hate Dragons, I tried to like them but they are pregnant mechs in moo-moos wondering about the battlefield with poor load outs that should more befit a Medium mech.

I also hate any Assault class mech that thinks it is a sniper. With that much armor squandered, what service are you providing your team other than stabbing them in the back? I truly want to vomit each time I see an alpha build Stalker with PPCs or a LRM Atlas. I just know they are worthless and I should likely leave them to wander off and die. Or, bait them to rightly be the target of Jenner skirmishers so I can in turn pick off the Jenners. I have a hard time caring if any back field Assaults die.

Jump jets are a legitimate tool on the battlefield but I really dislike people with poptart builds. I'm not talking about cresting hills to sometimes deal damage with a big gun, hell, that's legit. Builds which are not heat efficient and are all about bursting out an alpha annoy me about as much as the lock/pound LRM bots.

Dual AC20 Jagers.

You may as well get a name change that reads "I have no skill and even less imagination".

That and trial Jagers. It's such a great mech that will give so many new players the wrong impression.

Spider 5K's. I feel like someone stole their proper hard points and left MG's behind to make them feel bad.

And to the guy that said that Fangs are bad. Well, the Flame is the best dragon, followed by the -1C, then the Fang.

Because if your going to have a two ballistics (which usually means one is not going to be used) mech, then it is better to have another arm energy weapon than a missile launcher that can't fit in a full CT.

I get kinda pissed when I see LRM Atlai. To play a LRM Atlas, you either have to be trolling, or incredibly stupid.

lol, some people need to look in the mirror with some of these answers when they blame people for a loss.

Anyway, i cringe at:
When i see an awesome, and maybe like a stalker, and then a bunch of mediums and 2 lights and a dragon. NOT because they are bad. but because i know, just almost bulletproof, that the other team has a HGN and an Atlas, and then like 4 jagers or a pult and 3 jagers and a treb and one 3l raven. The matchmaker takes a team like the first one, which should be mobile and fine against a similar foe, and pits it against a team that has 100 tons advantage.

that is what makes me cringe.

Dragons are very good once you spend a ton of C-bills on them, and i mean compared to others you spent a lot of c-bills on. speed and firepower. Just need to learn not to facerush the enemy all the time. Awesomes perform really well if the team understands they cant all stand behind it and push for a brawl. The hate on lights is silly. for every derp i have seen, i have seen at least one good driver, and maybe one freeking outstanding acrobatic nonsense untouchable one. I was in a match last week with a spider that pulled almost 600 dmg.

I dont think any of the mechs are that bad. Awesomes could use a hitbox tweak to make the arms bigger, but they are fine as support role. Blame the derp driver, not the mech.

It's the pilots, not the mechs that make me cringe. I run my 8Q without complaints (and like to pop blimps with it), and I see DDCs lobbing lrms at 40m then firing off med lasers at 900m. Some Spider pilots are great, some Raven 3L pilots can barely manage to fire the streaks. If the matchmaker matched pilot to pilot instead of computing an average I'd really stop caring what mechs other pilots take. Until then I have to keep figuring out how many trial mechs are on my team to "balance" everything out, then try to figure out the pilot quality behind me to decide if my leading the charge will be pointless suicide or the start of the path to victory.

I dunno, 2 or more blackjacks pretty much spell "failure" most of the time.

It's times like this when I'm sure I live in "inverse world". It seems all my favourite mechs are the ones that people complain about and the ones people wax lyrical about their "OMG AWESUM" I just cannot get to grips with.

Two of my favourite mechs: YLW and DRG-1C
One of my least favourites: Jaeger S

What's that all about?

i think they come in flurries. i can go several matches withoput seeing one (unless i'm playing mine), then have multiple matches with 2 or 3 just on my side (and i won;t even be one of them) nevermind the other guys. in fact had a match with 4 of them on my team- i forget how we did though- this weekend.
