Please take the time to read through those links that stjobe put up on the bottom of page 1, they should explain a lot regarding the legal mess.

The "huge" BattleTech fanbase are for the most part very well acquainted with the concept of the Unseen, and will accept it.
Oh, and it's "copyright", not "copywrite" - and the Unseen issue is not over copyright but over license rights. Please read up a bit on the issue before continuing, I provided some links for you in my previous post.

In Copyright law, the winner is the party with the deepest pockets. They will literally drag it out so long that you go bankrupt on the legal fees and have to give up. PGI is a very young, cash poor, company. They would lose.

CopyRIGHTs have nothing to do with the invention of the airplane, and everything to do with the RIGHT to make copies
And teh 70 years you reference is 70 years to the estate, after the death of the original copyright holder. Unless those rights are sold before that , in which case it can (theoretically) go on for eternity if the rights are bought and sold in a timely fashion
As the owner of numerous copyrights (primarily music, but other performing arts as well), I feel it is my duty to know what I can and can`t do with them, and at lthe least to spell the word correctly...
PS: It`s kind of hilarious... people misspelling complex words outside teh basic 5k is common, but ironically the more basic the word and /or its root words get, the more creative the spelling mistakes get. And of course it`s doubly ironic because it pertains to legal rights which every TOm, D!ck and Harry harps on, but can`t even be arsed to spell properly

As i have pointed out before... Even if the unseen did not become unseen there is no guarantee that FASA actually owned the rights to use the designs in computer games. And there is a even less sure thing that they would have stayed intact after the transfer of ownership and secondary licensing left and right.
Right now i am pretty sure other companies owns the rights to use those designs in electronic entertainment media. So while it would be nice to see the unseen i'd say there is a snowballs chance in hell to see even the "re-seen" designs as long as they have other mechs to pull from. And seeing how the clan mechs (thanks to the Mechwarrior games) are way way way more familiar to fans of today then the old BT unseen.they do not need to look in to that venue in a very long time.

haha you are funny.
6 mechs are already designed (Quickdraw is one of them) but are not released yet and they are probably working on clans. Don't expect more than 26 IS mechs altogether this year.
