Flamethrower

Devs,

The flamethrowers need just one more push to make them functional.


1- They are not lasers. Pinpoint damage is silly. Aka if its got 64m range and its literally a plasma jet then why is it striking like a laser? Flamer should have the old LBX10 spread when firing..aka at 20m to 70m it should be a cone AOE.

2- The last heat inflicting changes are ok. However I would strongly recommend the heat be allowed to go up to 95% not just 90%.

3- Range. 64m is silly short. 90m to match small laser makes a lot more sense. (flame could become aoe from 50m to 90m range).

4- Animation: It looks great from third person view...but 1st person its very annoying. Please change it so that the flame does not seem to encompass the entire screen the moment it leaves the barrel. Also, remove the black smoke. Plasma jets do not generate black smoke.

The flamer should look like a hazy blue jet out until 50m or so (if using 90m max range) then it 'puffs' out into orange/reds with just a little black smoke around it. This would remove the visibility issues of the user but still would look awesome to a third person viewer.

I'd say, keep the flamers the way they are, but let people who use them actually heat an opponent all the way up to 100%. Flame throwers are a pain in the *** to use, heat the user and are practically melee range. Just letting them actually heat people up would make them viable.
