Indeed, although, the first answer was a little disappointing

This is one of the few times I will play the "White Knight" (it's easy to be the antagonist).
The thing is in software development... poop happens. Sometimes things may simply take longer than it should to be accomplish. It doesn't mean the person or people responsible for getting it done is incompetent.. rather there is a series of processes that must occur to ensure that a change doesn't just break the game (I mean, serious stability, and a crapload of stuff that isn't working as intended™ ). In this sense, delays are inevitable and people have to deal with it.
With that said, the things that are more important to me like balance (currently being near the top of the list) is not being addressed... and Paul is mostly (if not completely) responsible for that. His deadlines are pretty much on time (outside of not having an ECM command post months earlier). Paul's balance changes leave a lot to be desired.
There is a separation of what is done and what is actually done. I would rather people get 90+% of something right instead of 100% of something that is totally dumb (like Paul's heat proposal). That's just the heart of the matter....

i completely agree with you,but I think what puts the community in an uproar is the lack of transperancy. if they just told us exactly what was going on and what people were working on we could talk constructively about things because we'd have a base to make assumptions of off, instead we get very vague answers or none at all which leads to pure speculation and that tends to go negative quickly.
they closest they've come is when he just mentioned the new intern will be but to work fixing some of the terrain collision stuff.
Russ should be trying to sell us this like Walt Disney sold people on disneyland , show us what the artists are doing, tease us with something, show us what "john doe" is doing over in texturing this week, or what "jane doe" is doing in animation.
in a nutshell, they suck at PR and really need to change the way the wrangle the community.

I will admit that I find myself being more negative then I would like, but...I'm just pretty disappointed, you know? It's a basic yes/no question. I liked the rest of the answers, and, I quote from the topic: "I must say, I'm kind of disappointed by the answer to Bill's question. The other's were great, and over all I think this is one of the better ATD's, but Bill asked for a definite yes/no, not a timeline. I mean, the timeline is cool and all, but combined with the absence of most of the things he asked about, such as: toggles for TAG/AMS, targeting friendlies, 4x zoom, report functionality, prefix tags, minimap zoom, or integrated voice chat (I really don't think C3 counts), it just seems to leave half the question unanswered." I just don't get why they can't do this. I mean, even if they put no for everything and then explained why it wouldn't, I would have minded, but to leave us guessing on whether they can make the deadline... I don't get it, I really don't.

The thing is... it's trending on a whole lot of "no". It is unlikely they will get anything of use by their own deadline (which is probably IGP influenced and marketed).
Considering that their UI overhaul has dependencies on other stuff such as CW to operate correctly... you simply cannot guarantee anything. There is no ETA for something you have no idea how long it will take. That's the scary truth. Sometimes you can have an idea of how long, but even then, any hint of trouble can cause one to spend more time than they would like...

Oh, they definitely suck at PR, and I don't believe they don't know how to address it.

Most people consider it rude to apply labels to everyone who posted in the 54 pages of this thread. I'm sure you can find at least one post that doesn't apply.

While those may happen from time to time, you'll find that the opposite is generally true. This thread is currently just a troll thread for those waiting on July CDU.
Speaking of July CDU.... ahh forget it , just gonna enjoy the victors.
